🌟 We need your help! 🌟

We fundraise year round to ensure we can pay for everything our rescue dogs and any new street dogs need, but right now we're in danger of falling behind - there are many new found puppies, and two pregnant abandoned dogs ready to have litters within the next weeks, so we know the vet bills and number of mouths to feed are about to jump! This year we have already been lucky enough to send Thandie, Mabel and Tammy off to wonderful homes, but the number of new dogs needing help absolutely swamps the number we can move along to forever families 🏡

Dogs like Grace have had multiple major surgeries this winter, and she still has more to come next month. Other dogs such as Eeyore, Lucky, Hope and Polly have all needed visits with specialist vets recently, to ensure they got the care and surgeries they needed. We've never had to refuse a dogs vital care due to costs, and that's only thanks to you ... Everything we do is funded by donations, and time given by volunteers ❤️

Lovely Willow is almost 6 months old, and visited the vet today for neutering. All went well, and she's back in her foster home recovering 🏡

Willow is a teeny little lady of 5.5kg, with just a little more growing to do. She's well behaved in the home, is clean, and has no problem to be left alone. Willow is great with the cat, and foster brother Archie too. She is happy to be petted and to get attention, but she is also ok to spend her time playing with her toys 🐾

Willow is a more human-oriented puppy. She's great with people, and with children she meets during her walks. She prefers to avoid very active dogs, but is ok around calm dogs of any size. Willow is healthy, fully vaccinated, and so very ready to meet her forever people. Polly is 3 months old, and visited the vet to have her hernia operation today. All went well, and she's already eating, drinking and destroying her favourite toys! ❤️

Polly is still under 5kg, and although she has some growing to do she will remain a smaller dog. Polly's in a short term foster home whilst she recovers from the operation, and will rejoin big sister Molly next week. The girls have their final vaccines to have soon, and are each looking for forever homes 🏡

Yet another gorgeous hunting dog that was no use to somebody, and abandoned in Bansko. She was super scared of people to begin with, but has learnt that not everyone means harm. She was in season last month, and we've been desperately trying to catch her to neuter before any pregnancy could take hold, but we were too late 😥

This friendly lady will have her pups in early March, and now all we can do is wait. She weighs 25kg at the minute, and is in good health. We've treated against all parasites, and will continue to feed and befriend her. Once the pups have stopped feeding from her we will get her neutered ... It's just gutting that more are to be born 🤦🏻‍♀️

If dogs were correctly registered, and they couldn't just be thrown out without fear of punishment, things like this couldn't happen. Unfortunately, the rules are not enforced and people do what they want with their dogs. Similarly, there were many male dogs all around her whilst she was in season - OWNED, unneutered dogs that have been allowed to roam. If you don't want to castrate your dog keep them under control ... it's thanks to you that there will be even more unwanted street dogs soon 😏

Darling Lucky has a long way to go until he feels like a regular pup. He was lousy with lice and mange when picked up, and treated against both. He's been having daily grooms to try and work through his matted hair, and to make sure the creepy crawlies don't return. He was covered in eggs, and no matter how many we could brush out the worry was that they hadn't died and would start to hatch 🤮

Yesterday we spotted a live louse on Lucky. The little dude was treated again, and showered, and we gave him a good going over with the lice comb. Despite combing out literally hundreds of eggs we only found two more live ones, so hopefully we caught it quickly enough with the treatment and no more will hatch 🙏🏼

Lucky is still extremely quiet, although there's progress - he does enjoy a cuddle now rather than always wanting to lay alone in the corner! He's a darling little boy, and we can't wait until he's playing like any of the other pups ❤️

We had the final visit from the first worldschoolers group of the winter, with more walks, leash training and smiling faces all around! The kids got the chance to walk Jack (who is massively bigger than any of them 😅) as well as their teeny favourites, and some came to see Grace walking around too - last time they visited Grace she was still just laying on the floor, so they saw a big change ❤️

They also brought along a couple of snuffle mats they had made for the dogs, check out the comments to see the dogs using them. Before leaving Bansko the kids did a sponsored run to help the dogs, and we very much appreciate every penny you raised! Safe travels on to the wonderful people we met these past weeks, and we look forwards to meeting the new families next week 🐾

Update : we have Molly ❤️
If anyone can foster for a week please shout up - am not confident to put them back in their yard in case the same people do this again, or worse. Polly is having her hernia operation on Wednesday, so can stay where she is for that and a few days recovery. Molly cannot join her there ... In a week they can be moved back together, so Molly needs help for now 🙏🏼

Some idiots decided to smash open the gate to the yard where Molly and Polly stayed, we've no idea why, they just left them to run free. Polly is safe, Molly is still missing, last known to be around the park ... Please keep your eyes open for this little darling 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

9 more puppies that shouldn't have been born 😔

Their mama is INCREDIBLY fearful of people, even those who have been feeding and trying to befriend her for a year can't get anywhere close. She desperately needs neutering, but it's not even possible to give food with sedative to a dog like this - she stands so far away from people, all the other dogs around would be in and eat it before she gets near. We are trying to get the municipality to send the dog catcher out with the dart, distance isn't an issue then, so hopefully there will be great news soon and no more puppies from this scared lady 🙏🏼

🇧🇬 GRACE - LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Grace is doing brilliantly since she was hit by a car and left for dead in December. She's had a few major surgeries, and has another coming up in March. Grace is absolutely crushing recovery, and we are looking for a place in Bansko for her to continue her results. We will still be very much hands on with Grace, but would love to get her into a garden setting ... If you have a secure place she could call home for a while please shout up 🏡

Grace absolutely adores being outdoors, she's taken out for short walks and to sit outside multiple times daily, but she never wants to go back indoors! She's an old gal of around ten years old, and at 40kg is a decent size! Grace is house trained and quiet - the perfect guest ❤️

🇧🇬 LUCKY - LOOKING FOR A HOME, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Lucky is in a temporary foster home, but could really do with somewhere he can stay for a few months whilst we do his course of vaccines and assess him fully. Lucky's disease free, and has been treated against all the streetie basics. He's 5kg at 2 months old, and has had his first round of vaccines ❤️

Lucky naps such a lot, and loves being outside. His ideal home would have a secure outdoor space, so he can spend lots of time there. He's well behaved in the home and non destructive, but he's just much happier being outside. As with all foster pups, we can provide all you will need for Lucky to stay with you, and help to train him too ... If you're interested to know more get in touch! 🏡

🇧🇬 GEORGE & OLLIE - LOOKING FOR HOMES, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Handsome brothers George and Ollie are a couple of months old, and each now weigh over 6kg. They've had their first vaccines, are disease free, and looking for a foster home or homes 🐾

George and Ollie each have a wonderful nature. They're great with people, and enjoy meeting other dogs. These playful brothers have spent plenty of time with the worldschoolers these past weeks too, so we know they enjoy time with kids! Basic training is going well - it helps that they both adore attention and treats 😉

If you're able to give either or both of the brothers a foster home here in Bulgaria we can provide all the will need whilst with you, and it gives us a chance to assess them in a home environment whilst they continue their vaccines 🏡

🇧🇬 ELLY - LOOKING FOR A HOME, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Wonderful Elly is just over a year old, and such a gentle loving girl. She had a litter of puppies last year, and we've since neutered her. Elly is in great health, and has been fully vaccinated. She ADORES other dogs of all sizes, and is great with people too 🐕

Elly is fully grown at a healthy 27kg, and is looking for a great foster or forever home here in Bulgaria ❤️

🇧🇬 LIMPY - LOOKING FOR A HOME, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Limpy is a darling boy, who really needs someone to offer him a foster or forever home . He's fully grown at 25kg, and around 2 years old. He was first abandoned in Bansko a year ago, and he was super shy of everyone. Gradually he became more confident and came out of his shell. He always adored dogs, and it was playing with other dogs that got him involved with their people - now he loves nothing more than a good fussing and to take some treats! ❤️

Limpy is a gentle guy. He has an old trauma on one paw that causes his limp, but he gets about just fine. There's nothing to be done to fix it, so it's a case of loving this guy as he is! 🇧🇬 SCOUT - LOOKING FOR A HOME, Bulgaria only 🇧🇬

Scout is almost 2 years old, and still a playful pup. She's not overbearing, listens well, and adores attention. Scout is great with both people and dogs, although she's shy when first meeting people. As with anyone looking to adopt or foster a young dog, you will need to commit to continue Scout's training, to ensure she grows into the amazing dog she is well on her way to being! ❤️

Scout is in perfect health, she's a strong girl who's never had any issue. She is fully vaccinated and neutered. Scout's mama was a mixed scenthound, papa we didn't know. Scout is fully grown, at a dainty 18kg 🐾

🐾 JIMMY - LOOKING FOR A HOME 🐾

Jimmy is a year old, and looking for his forever home. At around 26kg, Jimmy is in great health. He's fully vaccinated, disease free, and of course neutered. Jimmy was in foster with a small doggy pal to learn from, and he has such good manners! He's now in foster with bigger dogs, and gets on great with them too. Jimmy is easy going, knows basic commands, and is well behaved in the home 🏡

Jimmy is good with people and dogs he meets, and walks well on and off leash. Anyone looking to adopt will of course need to commit to continuing his training, but Jimmy's easy to work with and lots of fun. Hes playful and gentle, and a joy to spend time with ❤️
