Orphan puppy update!!
4 of the puppies went into foster yesterday. ❤️ 🙌
A momma and her babies were surrendered into the shelter this morning and the beautiful momma took on the remaining 3. She wouldn’t have been able to take them all but can manage the 3.
Huge shout out to Potcake Puppy Palace who have taken them into foster this entire family!!

REMINDER ‼️ 🚘 🐱 🐶
As we are experiencing cooler weather, animals can take shelter near car engines to keep warm. These three littles were brought in a couple of hours ago after being found under the hood of a car.
They are okay and seem to be really healthy! Thank you to the gentleman who kindly brought them in. 🙏
We will medically intake them today and then they will be up for adoption in a few weeks.
This cold front has caused our cats and kittens to suffer from upper respiratory infections. This is normal but it’s taking longer to clear this time. We are working hard to get them healthy and ready for adoption ❤️

🆘 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED 🆘
Holly is 12 years old and sadly, her owner died of cancer two weeks ago 😢. She, along with a cat, was surrendered to Dr Dorsett, who has been their vet. Thankfully the kitty found a place to go and we agreed to take Holly with the hope to find her a a peaceful home to live her out her golden years.
The shelter is not the place for her, she is sad and confused. Please help us find a foster home 🙏 Holly does have Ehrlichia and Heartworm but is in otherwise good shape. We will provide all the veterinary care, medicine and support needed - just looking for someone to open their home to this sweet girl.

A bittersweet start to the new year. We have been trying to catch this poor dog since November. His condition deteriorated making him weak and so with the help of some incredible volunteers we were able to secure him.
This is Denim - he had a horrific embedded collar 😢 Thankfully we have been able to remove it. Denim has been left with deep and infected wounds encircling his neck. His wounds were cleaned and he was started on antibiotics and pain medication. This poor dog must have been suffering and in pain for so long.
We have so many cases like this and it’s infuriating and completely avoidable. Not only was this dog abandoned as a puppy, they left his collar on so when he grew it become embedded in his body. Utterly Heartbreaking 💔 . No wonder he has been so scared of humans.
We want to thank the person on Carmichael Road for feeding him and other strays in the area 🙏 These innocent souls need us to help and care for them.

Last week a video was circulating on social media of a dog that unable to walk properly. We managed to secure him and bring him into our care.
We are heartbroken to share that his injuries were severe and he was in a lot of pain.
Notes from our vet: Xrays show bilateral tibia/fibula open fractures as there are open purulent wounds on both back legs that don't appear to be healing. The injuries are not new as there are bone calluses noted. The hips are mostly locked in place - very stiff with limited range of motion. So he's walking on his front legs. He looks to have been in pain a long time.
We’ve made the difficult decision to help him over the rainbow bridge 🌈 💔 He has been made as comfortable as possible with pain meds since we got him.
We named him Kakhi. He was an absolute sweetheart and didn’t deserve this.
It’s truly devastating and infuriating at the same time. Whoever did this hit and run - may karma find you. It is a criminal offense to leave an injured animal like this and you can be prosecuted. Accidents happen but to leave an animal is intentional. Kakhi was suffering like this for weeks and weeks 💔
Rest in peace sweet boy.

She has been hit by a car and is severely injured - to the person who knocked her down and left her suffer is despicable.
