Feeling pretty defeated these days… fundraising is like climbing a mountain that doesn’t have a peak. Every month it is THOUSANDS of dollars in vet bills and we don’t even come close to meeting those goals.
Our inbox and tags are filled with pleas for help. Animals that are out there suffering with no where to go and there is nothing we can do to help. It’s unethical to pull animals without resources and we have to stay within our means but now our means even seem impossible.
We have animals that need vet work and their posts maybe get 10 views and even less engagement. Animals available for adoption aren’t getting local attention so our out of state adoptions (that generate very little return) are our only option.
We see these big rescues that are able to raise thousands in minutes and don’t get me wrong, we support their efforts and appreciate them, but it’s hard to cope with that when we have a puppy facing an emergency and can’t reach our audience.
I dont know what to do anymore. We work hard at our full time jobs so we can support and rescue the animals that need us… we pay a lot out of our own pockets but it’s getting harder to do that. I can see why a lot of rescues are shutting down and in the end the animals are the ones who suffer.
Anyway, between Saturday and Today, Aster cost close to $800. Good news is that it’s not anything serious and we are super grateful for that. She does have a UTI and we hope that will be the answer to everything that’s been going on.
If you find it in your heart to help us pay this bill,.. just know… this tiny little rescue will be so very grateful.
