And despite our best efforts to avoid this, we also received some moldy, rotten carved pumpkins, that we now have to dispose of. Hopefully next year we won’t have to deal with any more of those.

Donate your UNCARVED, undecorated pumpkins to farmed animal sanctuaries this season!

Last year we received a ton of carved pumpkins that we then had to dispose of, which was a huge pain and a lot of work. Carved pumpkins start to go bad pretty quickly, especially in warmer weather. We even had someone drop off several pumpkins that had PINS in them from being decorated. PINS!! Can you imagine what would’ve happened if we had just tossed the piggies those pumpkins?! Thankfully, I am extremely careful and noticed the pins before anyone got hurt.

So this year, save your ‘good’ pumpkins from the garbage and give them to your local animal rescue, but please don’t dump the unusable ones and make them someone else’s problem. 🧡

Good news, Amherstburg vegheads - there’s a new vegan lunch option in town! We stopped by today for the new vegan Spring Roll Bowl at , and it was FANTASTIC! I also highly recommend the lavender lemonade - so good!

We love it when a vegan dish is crafted with love and not added as an afterthought on a menu. Since the chef is the former Plant Base creator, I think we have more of this deliciousness to look forward to - yaay!

Thank you to all of our volunteers, friends (including my bestie Leigh Graham!) & community members who helped make this year’s Open House such a beautiful day. Special thanks to Cheryl and the for providing 2 solid hours of amazing music!
