⛔️RESCUE ALERT We received a call yesterday concerning a family member of Carl. A young sheep less than a year old gave birth unexpectedly and delivered a single Ram lamb. She seemed to be doing well with him and then he disappeared. Because these sheep live on an island off the coast of Nova Scotia, they live a free-range life and nature plays a big role in their existence. Carl came to us 3 years ago after a coyote attack on the island that killed his Mother and 12 other sheep. The remaining sheep are now thriving, but this one little lamb born just 10 days ago, fell into a deep hole in the ground. The family looked for a few days and could not find him and figured he had died. It turns out, five days later while checking on the herd a piece of trash had blown up on the island and as they were removing it, they saw some white fur. They were certain it was the deceased lamb and reached deep into the hole to pull his body out. Suddenly his ear wiggled! He was alive! Five days without any milk, only some water from the hole. We are on our way to pick him up! He does have an injury to his leg that will require some extra care, but there was no way we could say no to bringing on the very lucky lamb, a true miracle and a testament to the resilience of life.

Peewee’s signature pose. Folks have asked if I put him in this position, but it’s all him. He’s a six year old ginger we picked up from a barn on a farm with his brother Archie. Peewee was supposed to be a Barn cat 🐈, be he had a different idea a bout his life.

Dusty is favourite on our Farm by many people. He came to us 6 years ago from a wonderful rescue home. He had suffered a very difficult year before he spent another year on a recovering farm getting back to good health. Our Vet figures he’s about 18 years old from his teeth, that Hank loves to keep clean. He’s a miniature Horse that children can lead and give hugs too. He’s such a wonderful part of our Farmily. We thought at one time he might be happier with other Horses, but he only lasted a few days and we brought him home. He’s a special guy that is more Unicorn 🦄 than Horse 🐎

George had to remind Dusty that he’s the Unicorn 🦄 on the farm and he’s the 🦁
