We do not breed, sell, process or exploit our animals as a petting zoo

I found a photo of Oscar as a young steer. Look at how those beautiful Horns filled in. They are like a crown on his head. Without those horns he’d likely keep his head postured lower. He’s so very proud of them.

Treats for Everyone!
What a joyful surprise to receive so many boxes of treats. Don’t worry, Oscar and the girls enjoyed the treats too. We brought them in for a cow-chew-tourie board full of goodies . We are all so grateful ☺️

We gained close to 10,000 new followers on our page. Welcome, everyone that is new. Oscar is the biggest and most inspirational being on the farm for me. We purchased Oscar as a day old bottle calf so that I could experience what life would be like to give a Holstein Boy an exceptional life. Growing up on a Holstein dairy farm, it was always my experience that the male calves would leave within a few months of their birth. The experience of feeding them and playing with them was the most satisfying and freeing part of farm life. I would curl up with them when they would sleep. They’d play chase and leap through the air. Did I ever dream Oscar would reach over 2000lbs and be six ft tall? No. But he sure is Majestic. Oscar is now seven years old and can live to be up to 20 years old. Most cattle do not live beyond 8 years in the farming world. So it’s a great privilege to be Oscar’s caretaker and give him everything to make his life beautiful. This is a very personal experience of healing my childhood trauma and in no way am I criticizing the Farming industry. I would not have Oscar if Farming didn’t exist. I’m here only to share the joy and love this Farm Sanctuary brings to us all.

Darla and Gerdy were sprinting and springing forward with the time change.

My favourite thing is to get up close to the animals and feel their fur and watch them enjoy their surroundings and each other. It’s so nice to have the sun warm us up a bit so I don’t have to wear gloves.
