Another quiet week for us…Scoops passed away over the . We’ll always remember her as a fun and energetic little companion. Some of her favourite things were fresh dandelion leaves, seedheads, clovers and tomatoes. In her last days she enjoyed eating sweet strawberries and going out to play in the grass. 🌈

Here’s a clip from last night Uxbridge Fall Fair. Dad takes it down the track with the Ford 9000 to a very respectable 210ft. 19 tractors in the class- great to see so many involved in this.

Time to start baling! Sound on! Second cutting #alfalfa is ready. Each wagon holds about 120 bales and each must be piled in the barn by hand. Purchase this hay through the link in the bio. #supportlocal #workout

Back on the Ford 7000 to rake some hay. Turning over hay with a rake helps the drying process before baling. Also keeps hay rows nice and tight. Hang on to your hats, this is a quick ride and a bit bumpy. Sound on! #supportlocal #makehaywhilethesunshines

Where we started

After purchasing timothy hay and alfalfa products from local pet stores for our guinea pigs, the quality was less than desirable given the high prices. The products were imported and bore little resemblance to those my family had grown on its farm for over a century. As a person who enjoys eating fresh, locally sourced food, I questioned why I could not provide fresh, locally-grown food for my pets too.

I opened Scotchy & Scoops, a pet food business named after our family guinea pigs who loved the fresh timothy hay and alfalfa I gave them from my family's farm.
