Hey All!
I just wanted to repost this diagram of how to cape out a deer for a shoulder mount.
-Up the back of the front legs (you can cut off at the knee)
-Then tube it up the neck (there is no need to cut up the back of the neck to the head or the front) and then pop the joint where the skull meets the neck.
Leaving the head in the cape for your taxidermist to knock out is best. We know how much extra skin we need for certain areas and there are some tricky spots around the eyes that you can put a hole in easily that are best to avoid.
