We had such a great session today with these youngsters who drove in from London to experience EAL with the ponies. We learned about leadership, developing confidence, and focus, all while having fun! Our sweet Zita was a fabulous ambassador! 🐴❤️

This week we are delighted to introduce Wendy! “I grew up on a farm nearby and had horses and ponies. When married I spent most of my life sailing. Loving racing and cruising both, meeting people who became life long friends. I found Poppy’s Haven and am experiencing a new way of communicating with horses. They are training me!!” 🐴❤️

For the past two days we were on Jacob Island Camp Maple Leaf facilitating EAL programs with Team Dreamwinds. And yes, the horses crossed over on a barge!

We had two groups at this amazing camp. Kids of Heros - children of first responders and military whose parents live with PTSD, and Skein - children who are grieving the loss of a parent or sibling. We are honoured to be part of the team supporting these children in their healing and helping them to realize the power they have within themselves. ❤️🐴

Have you met Kelly from , one of our volunteers? “I am a certified dog trainer, and I live just up the road from Poppy’s Haven. I decided to volunteer at Poppy’s Haven to reconnect with the horses, meet new friends, and help out in the barn when needed. Welcome to the herd Oreo & Cinnamon! Our daughters have decided to keep & show lambs for 4H this summer. They are just the sweetest little fellows 💗. Thank you to Eagleson Farms 🙏🏿

Our EAL youth will be able to cuddle the lambs next week! 🐑

Joyful Pepper is one month old! Those long legs are growing so quickly and she is so full of energy and pepper!

A critically endangered breed, Poppy’s Haven’s Joyful Pepper is one of only 7 known Newfoundland Pony foals born in the world this year to date. Spread the word about these very special ponies. Such an important part of Canada’s heritage. Their survival depends on the next generation of Newfoundland Pony stewards and breeders 🐴❤️

The kittens are almost 12 weeks old, which means they are ready to be spayed / neutered and will then be available for adoption! Mittens, Waffles and Lynx will all be adopted through Bayfield's Forgotten Feline's (BFF). Contact BFF for an application form.

When you adopt one of our kittens they are well socialized - to adults, children, and dogs! We will so miss them but we can’t keep them all, and we know that BFF will find them loving homes ❤️🐈🐈‍⬛

Today Avi had energy work completed. We have always sensed the heaviness Avi carries. Her energy healer assessed that Body Code, an energy balancing treatment, would release the root causes of Avi’s imbalances. Her testing also revealed Avi would be most comfortable with me doing the treatment.

After showing me how to work with her meridians to release the energy blockages, we immediately saw Avi carry herself differently. Her energy was noticeably higher. Both Avi and her filly spent the afternoon with the rest of the herd in the pasture without incidence for the first time. She was not chased, she was not bullied.

We will continue doing energy healing with Avi and the other ponies if they need any assistance. We are so blessed to have one of our volunteers with this knowledge and willing to share her expertise. Thank you for today! 🙏🏿🐴❤️
