Last night, Griffin spent his very first night away from home, and my heart is so full. 🥰 I met Griffin a little over two years ago? from the very first moment, I knew he was something special. He's the sweetest, kindest dog you’ll ever meet, with a gentle soul that brightens up every room he walks into. 🐾💕
What made the night even more special was having him here with his best friend Kyah and their buddy Tahoe. Watching them all together, it was clear how much they mean to each other. It’s moments like these that remind me of why I love what I do. Here's to many more cozy nights and happy adventures together! 🩵🐶🏡
Where do I begin…
When Kayla and I partnered up in April, everything fell into place. But before I dive into our journey, I need to give a heartfelt shout-out to Hannah Francis who has been by my side through it all. Hannah, you were the one who brought Kayla and me together, and for that, I’m forever grateful. You’ve been instrumental in building Tails and Trails from the ground up, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without your unwavering support and dedication. 🩵
Kayla and I have endured so much—countless ups, a few downs, and moments of self-doubt that made us question our future. Yet, through every challenge, we leaned on each other, picking each other up when we needed it most. I’ll never forget how terrified we were before our first event, unsure of ourselves and our capabilities. But we faced those fears together, and now, we eagerly await our next event, knowing we can conquer anything.
From starting with just our own dogs to now having an established clientele, our journey has been nothing short of incredible. Each dog we board, we treat as our own, pouring our hearts into their care. And every pack walk? It’s the highlight of our week—not just for the dogs, but for us too. The joy, the excitement, the bond we share with these amazing animals is something we cherish deeply.
To our wonderful clients, we can’t thank you enough for your support. Your trust in us means the world, and we are so grateful to be part of your dogs’ lives. As we look to the future, we’re filled with excitement and anticipation. We have some amazing surprises in store that we can’t wait to announce, and we’re thrilled to continue this journey with all of you by our side.

Kennel cough season is officially upon us. This highly contagious respiratory illness, also known as canine infectious tracheobronchitis, tends to spike during this time of year, especially in areas where dogs gather in close quarters, such as boarding facilities, dog parks, and grooming salons.
Kennel cough typically presents with a persistent, dry cough that may sound like a honking noise. You might also notice sneezing, a runny nose, or mild lethargy. While most dogs recover on their own with rest and care, it’s crucial to monitor for any signs of worsening symptoms, especially in puppies, elderly dogs, or those with pre-existing conditions, as they can be more susceptible to complications.
To protect your dog during kennel cough season, consider updating their Bordetella vaccination, which is commonly recommended for dogs at higher risk. Additionally, try to minimize their exposure to crowded dog-friendly spots, particularly if there’s an outbreak in your area. If your dog starts showing signs of kennel cough, it’s best to keep them isolated from other dogs and contact your vet for advice on the next steps.

What is Kennel Cough?

How is it Spread?

If your dog has been in a situation where they may have been exposed to kennel cough, it’s crucial to monitor them for the following symptoms:

What We Do to Keep Your Dogs Safe
At Tails and Trails Canine Services, your dog’s health and safety are our top priority. To help prevent the spread of kennel cough:
We do not allow any dogs showing symptoms to participate in our services. If a dog is infected or displaying symptoms, they must stay away from our activities for a minimum of two weeks.
We conduct extra cleaning and disinfecting of our equipment and any shared surfaces to further reduce the risk of spreading the infection. We also ask if your dog has been infected to let us know so we can keep track of cases!

New Payment and Cancellation Policies:
Payment for boarding services is now required on the day of boarding. All payments must be received on the day of service to ensure your booking.
For pack walks, payment is now due prior to pickup.
A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations.
If boarding cancellations are made with less than 24 hours' notice, 50% of the boarding price will be charged.
Additionally, please note that our boarding prices have increased. We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

How It Works 🐶You throw a treat some distance away and give the command "Go find." The dog uses its powerful sense of smell to locate the treat.
Scent Work 👃🏻Dogs have an extraordinary sense of smell, significantly more sensitive than humans. They can pick up the scent of the treat and track it to its source, engaging their natural hunting and foraging instincts.
Mental Stimulation 🧠This game provides mental stimulation by challenging the dog's problem-solving skills and engaging their olfactory senses. It helps tire them out mentally, which is just as important as physical exercise.
We like to make our pack walks interesting by adding fun games and keeping up with training! It’s important to incorporate mental stimulation alongside the physical stimulation they get throughout the walk. It’s also great bonding time! 🩵
