Tips On Recovering a Lost Feather Buddy
1. Put out a cage with food. Break out the favorites! Now is not the time to worry about the fruits and vegetables.
2. Talk Sweet to me baby! Calmly, light tones, make them interested in what sounds you are making.
3. Similar Sounds. If you have a recording or video of your bird play it towards the direction you last seen if possible. YouTube could possibly be your best friend right now.

Now for the "oh no.. really?" Yes really... extreme situations call for extreme measures. Sorry. Just think of it this way. Do you want to scare your Birdo for a brief period and nurse it back in your comforting arms? Or Does Mr. Hawk spot him. I am a realist and it's hard. Trust me I have been there.... it's rough.
4. Find a net. Fishing net that grandpa used to give you to help catch that big one. Or anything net like you can toss and confine it to. Don't have a net? Anything similar will do. Bed Sheet, Towel, grandma's favorite afghan..
5. Get a ladder. Have one, get one. Don't have one, borrow one. People are kind when you have a lost pet, trust me you will find someone that will lend you one.
6. This one makes me shiver.. but.. Wet Birds don't fly far... Get a hose out. Not my favorite means but let's be real here. Your bird is out.

Lastly... keep positive, keep looking, you will be exhausted, and spread the word.
One of the biggest learnings I had when searching for our lost girl was social media doesn't reach everyone. Shocking I know! I had far more traction printing flyers and going door to door.
On the plus side I met a lot of wonderful people that gave me wonderful words of encouragement and kindness.

This tiny girl is now in our care. She was found in the Aspen/Evergreen area. She’s very tired from her adventures. Big thanks to Bonnie C for capturing her and keeping her safe. ❤️ It warms our heart to know there’s so many good people looking out for our feathered friends. ❤️

Sharing tea is never an option with Conure's around. Our little Petina loves a sip of tea, not sure I like the idea of the mug "May result in increased productivity".... Conures have more than enough energy without the tea.
