The more I researched, the more interested I became. How did the breeder get that colour? What breed characteristics did this doodle inherit from the poodle? Why is this doodle favourable and this one is not? Is it all in the genes or environment? Why does this one have a curly coat and the other doesn't? Looking into all these questions, I realized there is very much a science to all of it. A rig
ht way and a wrong way. A way to breed healthy, well tempered, good looking doodles and a way to produce disasters. Sadly, the more involved I became, the more I realized the amount of negativey that surrounds the doodle world. Why? Because people figured out how desired these dogs are. 'Breeders' just throw together any two dogs they can get their hands on and breed them creating litters without any research of the health and genetics of the parents and therefore the puppies produced. Not to mention the conditions the dogs are kept in. Housing them in unheated, filthy, confined conditions and nevermind getting the attention and exercise that they deserve. The dogs are overbred, neglected or even abused. The result? Puppies with hip dysplasia, eye problems, hearing problems, heart defects, viral infections, parasites etc. How can they get away with this? Simple. Because people buy them. The new owners are so fooled by those encredibly cute puppy eyes that they don't care and they choose to support these breeders by purchasing that puppy anyway. No wonder there is such bad publicy concerning this topic! This has happened to such an extent that Wally Conron, the creator of the Labradoodle, himself regrets even doing so because of the industry it has created. I want to be able to look every buyer in the eye and tell them everything has been done to the best of my ability to produce healthy offspring and that the puppies are raised in a clean, postitive, family setting. Every dog has to pass all their health clearances and temperment assessment before they are bred. I decided against a kennel, instead placing all our dogs with loving families from puppyhood. Every dog receives premium nutrition, regular socializing, positive reinforced training, regular grooming and veterinary appointments. Amadeus Aussiedoodles - Quality, Compassion, Family.
