I can't even begin to imagine the fear, anger & heartbreak this family has gone through over the past several days. Hound hunting needs to be banned by the government .. yet Doug Ford has expanded training facilities that the MNR was attempting to phase out over the years. As people in urban areas continue to fear their pets well being due to encounters with wildlife .. In my opinion .. it is and always has been human actions we should fear. My sincere condolences goes out to the family at the loss of Mary Jane & Hank.

Field Call Friday! 🦊Last week, on a chilly December morning, OMHS received a call about a fox with a badly injured leg hanging around a car lot for over a week. Our Animal Protection Officers sprang into action.
Despite his injury, this clever fox proved to be quite the escape artist, dodging nets and disappearing into a drainage culvert. Backup arrived, but even with multiple attempts to coax him out, Mr. Fox wasn’t giving up easily.
That’s when teamwork truly shone! With help from Healing Hearts Lost Pet Search and Recovery and Oakville Fire Department Station 1, a creative plan involving duct tape, a cardboard box, and quick reflexes led to his safe capture.
Mr. Fox is now recovering at a wildlife rehabilitation center after a challenging surgery to repair his leg. Once he’s fully healed, he’ll be released back to his home turf.
Teamwork, ingenuity, and compassion made this rescue a success. 🧡

Yesterday we were able to safely secure the first of two sickly coyotes. Her mate may take some time to acclimate to our trap as he is still very cautious of its presence. Without your support, caring and understanding this would not be possible!!

Yesterday this little one arrived via the Oakville & Milton Humane Society.

This is a mangy coyote with a heavy tapeworm load.

Tape worm particular in canids can be a problem due to a recently imported variant. So we will be getting rid of the tapeworm and the mange mites

Once again we are asking for community assistance. We are currently assisting local animal services to secure two injured & sick coyotes. This takes a great deal of time to encourage wildlife to enter an enclosure. This requires patience .. time .. and of course food.
If your cleaning out your freezer and have any freezer burnt food you are able to donate it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact us via messenger to arrange a pick up or drop off.
This little one is entering and we hope to have her secured shortly!! Her mate will also need our assistance as well.

SOMEONE OUT THERE KNOWS WHERE BELLA IS!!! I BEG ANYONE WHO KNOWS OF HER WHEREABOUTS TO SPEAK UP!!!

Bella went missing from her home in the Francis Road area in Burlington on May 19, 2024. With no sightings it was difficult for her family but they persisted in their search. They have diligently postered & canvassed homes throughout any possible sighting area. They have sat quietly waiting and watching hoping to get a glimpse of their sweet girl. Maintaining humane traps & setting up comfort stations through out the sighting locations.

On Aug 8th they received a confirmed sighting on Coric Ave.
Bella had found a wonderful home that provided her with food, water & care. She had been visiting this home for several weeks & had won the hearts of the couple caring for her. They reached out and confirmed it was in fact Bella!!

Can you imagine how elated they felt to finally have news that their sweet, shy lady had been located!! They spoke with the couple but Bella had not returned or been seen for several days :( Canvassing and postering began again. No rock was left unturned .. but again, she was nowhere to be found.
During this time several other lost cats were found and returned to their loving families. It was heart wrenching for Bella's family. To be so close to being reunited only to have their hearts broken again.

Bella IS out there ... someone has seen her or knows who may have her. Please .. please help her get home!! Please feel free to contact our page anonymously if you so desire or reach out to her family.

Bella is spayed & microchipped.
