Any yellow lovers out there? I've been really into the colour yellow lately - I even painted my front door yellow and it's so fun and cheerful! So when I saw these little yellow flowers at a recent photo session with pup Daisy, I had to incorporate them - in this case as a little pop of foreground interest. 🌼

INTRODUCING: Pocket sessions! Pocket sessions are shorter in length with a smaller gallery of images. They will take place weeknights only, on certain dates at a predetermined location in the Burlington area. I'll be offering them on a very limited basis. KoKo, looking like a little fox (she's actually a Shiba Inu) and fitting right in with her environment. 🦊 But when you're actually in suburbia, you have to be creative and look for "woodsy" spots. This was taken on a small strip of land, left to grow naturally, next to a large library/community centre.

I first photographed Luc and his sister Maggie a few years ago. Luc is now 14 and has progressive heart disease. His family wanted more photos of him while he's still spry and feeling good. I'm always so honoured when clients come back to me, and it's so special to see their pets at different points in their lives. 🥰

Sweet senior Bella at her fall session ... in February! What a wierd month it's been for weather - it felt like fall, then there was a sprinkle of winter and today it was raining like spring. Mother nature is keeping me on my toes!

I hope everyone had a restful holiday season and a happy new year! I've been working hard behind the scenes to update my website - it was a big job and I essentially started from scratch. But I'm so proud because I did it myself and learned so much along the way about website design and building. I also tweaked my branding and changed my pricing structure to provide more value and flexibility for you! I think this year will be a pivotal year for me and my business, and I'm hoping these changes will get more furry faces in front of my camera. "Life isn't a matter of milestones, but of moments." I love this quote and it's so applicable to our pets. Time goes by so quickly and there aren't as many reminders (or milestones) to photograph our pets. But there are so many moments to capture and hold onto, like how Lily always crosses her paws when lying down. I'm booking spring sessions - let's capture some moments of your pet to remember!

Jasper is almost 14, and although he’s experiencing age-related health issues, he still loves a good walk on the trails, just at a slower pace. Jasper doesn’t know this though - although his mobility is declining, in Jasper’s mind, he’s fine, so we had to slow him down occasionally! His mom is a vet tech and she’s keenly aware of his quality of life and making sure he’s comfortable. She also knows that she’ll have to say goodbye to him soon. I was honoured to spend a lovely afternoon making some memories of Jasper for his family. ❤️

Since I’m unable to hold client sessions until our current lockdown ends, you may be seeing more of this face! I’ve never had very cooperative dogs of my own when it comes to photos - I think my own pets are my most difficult clients! But with some coaxing Maggie does pretty good, especially considering that she’s entering her “teenage” years in dog years (she’s one and a half). I’ll also be digging into the archives and posting when I feel inspired - no hard and fast rules, since pressure to post on the regular isn’t something I need to add to life right now. Hope you’re all hanging in there!
