Happy Canada 🇨🇦Day & Welcome to The Dog 🐶Days of Summer 🥵☀️⚠️Warnings & Tips on keeping your Pets Cool in this Heat Wave:

Firstly being mindful that if it’s Hot for you, you can imagine how hot it is for your babies with fur! Did you know that Cats & Dogs have a natural ability to sweat through their Paws 🐾 ? They can keep cool but if you cannot go barefoot on that hot cement just imagine what kind of damage it could do to those little paws 😫! Not to forget breeds with less fur can also be prone to sun burns

So keep in mind when you have your dogs outside or take them for walks to allow plenty of rest and shade as it’s always cooler there as well as generally sticking to the grass! Even dirt and sand can be very hot! You can always test with the back of your hand to check! Staying wet & hydrated are always the most comforting and best way to beat the heat! If you can find a clean (in case your Pooch etc. Needs to drink) 💦💧🏞water source such as a creek, lake, river or stream this can make for a pleasurable break for both you and your pet! Even if it’s just to get the feet wet! You could always consider a mini pool in the yard as well or a sprinkler or hose down! Bring extra water (cold if possible) for your dog especially on walk even in the car as well! If you don’t have a container / bowl of some sort you can always offer from a cupped hand otherwise they will be very prone to heat exhaustion & dehydration just the same as you can! ⚠️Please be prepared and remember about leaving your pets in a Hot vehicle 🚙🛻even for a few moments! If you cannot park in the shade with a window open or with AC on & OR your pet secured properly (not enough to allow to jump out) outside in the back of a truck (in kennel or restrained and bottom covered so kept off the hot metal) then your better off leaving them at home!
