I do things like this with Scout daily.
It adds some extra benefits besides the obvious fact she enjoys it. One being it gives her a continued positive experience being handled and touched around her eyes, ears and mouth - especially important for vet visits, checking ears if there is a build up of gunk that needs to be cleaned or if you need to get close and sniff to see if the is an odour present. Checking eye's, opening the mouth and inspecting for issues on the tongue or gums, chipped or cracked teeth.

Scout works on a Mini Educator.
I highly recommend upgrading to a quick release bungee collar. The bungee allows for a much more perfect fit AND flexion (I know I pronounced it wrong 🤣) on your dog. Especially important when you’re on those off leash or more vigorous adventures and your dog pants harder.
Mine was made by @topdoggear.ca and I upgraded it to the cobra buckle.
If your dog has a double-coat, make sure you part the fur so you can see skin. This is important for making sure you have proper contact with the tips. If fur is in the way you run the chance of having inconsistent stimulation. For dogs with short hair, typically a little wiggle wiggle gets the tips to the skin.
You want to place the receiver just off center on either the right or left side of the trachea in the muscle area if placing it below. Or you can place it on the right or left side of the cervical spine lining up roughly behind their ears.
Position your ecollar just below your slip lead or prong collar. It acts as an added benefit to help keep your slip or prong collar high up behind the base of the skull for optimal fitting and communication.
When your receiver is secured, you should be able to fit approximately two fingers under the collar. I like to check this by placing my fingers under the opposite side of where the receiver is located.

Here’s the pack immediately after parking and shutting off the vehicle. A lot of work goes into achieving such a healthy mindset where we aren’t seeing constant anticipation, dogs whining and frantically moving about the vehicle. Your car ride and your dog’s behaviour prior to commencing a walk are massive indicators for how your walk is going to go. Work on this and you will set your dog up for success right from the start.
