Our Story
Escape to the Country Dog & Cat Kennels is located between Okotoks and Black Diamond, Alberta. We are a very small, fully insured, owner operated, PET FIRST-AID certified and VETERINARIAN RECOMMENDED kennel. There is a half acre fully fenced GRASS play area, as well as large indoor and outdoor kennels for your pet's comfort. If your dog is well behaved off leash, there is a creek for them to play in and a lot of acres to roam around. The comfortable indoor 'single' kennels are 4' x 5' and the 'double' kennels are 6' x 6' and can freely go out to the 6' x 8' outdoor space through the very fancy saloon style dog door that is totally weather proof! The inside kennels are heated so your dog will enjoy warm radiant heat. Your pet can rest on the Coolaroo raised pet cot that is great for sore joints in older dogs or curl up on a favorite bed from home. They also have their water and food dishes inside. We haven't forgotten about the smaller dogs (under 15 lbs)! At Escape to the Country Dog Kennels, we offer luxury home care! At peak times, we have 6 kennels inside our home which are 4'x4', so plenty of room for small dogs. The dogs can curl up on their bed, watch TV or hang out with us around the house (if your dog does not mark!). If your dog is crate trained, we encourage you to bring their crate with them. We have a 16x10 contained grass area plus our large deck for them to roam around. They are also able to run around and play with other small dogs in the fully fenced play area. In either kennel situation, your furry friend will be supplied toys, treats and lots of love, care and attention. We guarantee lots of outside, off leash play time at NO extra cost! 4 times a day, they will be out sniffing, running, wrestling and playing. Our rates are $38/day/dog. A 10% discount will apply for 2 dogs from the same family in the same kennel. 15% discount if there are 3 sharing. We require you to bring: *Your dog's bed as this will make them feel safe and comfortable having their own scent. A home away from home!!! *Your dog's food *No leashes or bowls please ***All dog's must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations*** Only well socialized, friendly dog's will be accepted. No high anxiety dogs please! We only board dogs that have been SPAYED OR NEUTERED! We now offer cat boarding in our HUGE 4'W x 8'L x 8' H kennels in the top of our heated barn. Rates are $25/night/cat condo, second cat is $10, third is $5.
They get LOTS of attention and playtime. The kennels are massive... lots of space for the cats to wander. No small, cramped spaces at Escape to the Country!
