Travel just got a little easier! The Centers for Disease Control and Protection just released more important information regarding dogs travelling to the USA from rabies-free or low-risk countries. All that is required now is the CDC Dog Import Form, (which does not require a veterinary exam and/or veterinarian signature to fill out), dog must be at least 6 months of age, appear healthy, and have a universally recognized microchip. Here are a few helpful links that have all the recent information:

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact the CDC at 1-800-232-4636. We thank you all for your patience and understanding while we navigated through this extensive and confusion process together! We will continue to update everybody if new information gets released.

With another hot week approaching, here are some tips on how to keep your furry friends safe:
🚙 Never leave pets in a parked car! Even a few minutes can be dangerous as temperatures inside a parked car can soar quickly.
🐾 Protect those paws! Pavement and asphalt can get extremely hot. If it’s too hot for your own barefoot, it’s too hot for their paws!
🏡 Ensure your pets have access to shade, fresh water and a cool place to rest at all times.
💦 Always have water available for your pets, especially during walks or outdoor activities.

Are you planning a trip with your best furry canine friend after August 1st, 2024? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recently announced some major changes to the requirements for dogs entering the USA. The Canada Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has been updating their website as new information has been released. Please be aware that the CFIA recently announced that they do NOT have the capacity to be able to endorse the required CDC forms for travel to the USA. Unless an agreement is made before August 1st, there will likely be a delay with people crossing the border with their dogs. If you have any questions about the requirements and/or process, please follow the link below and if the information is still not clear, give us a call at 403-769-1442! Please keep in mind that this is all new and there are still many unknowns, so there may be questions that we won't be able to answer for you at this time.
