I had cameras on Tyrion the last few days before we lost him. It's taken me until today to look through some of them.

These are from the evening of Jan 12 to the morning of January 13th.

I'm just uploading them here so I will always have them to look back on.

Poor guy, he was always very clean and used his litter box. The last month or so he wasn't using it like he normally would.

Unfortuanately this year isn't off to much of a better start then the last couple.

Tyrion's cancer became too much and we had to say goodbye to him today.

It's been hard the past few weeks, seeing him slowly decline and as he lost his vision, really slow down. He's always been a rabbit that was very full of life and s***k, if there was one rabbit we had to name with "attitude" it was him, but it was a big part of his charm.

The fight with pneumonia really took a lot out of him, and when he started to decline again we thought it was maybe that creeping up again, but his thymoma was what was causing this issue this time and no amount of medication was going to fix that.

We were able to be with him and it was a calm passing. He was the last of our agility rabbits, and it's been hard watching all of our hopping crew slowly leave us, but I am grateful that until these last couple weeks he had been a very spry and energetic bun, even despite the cancer he was diagnosed with in December 2022.

He is very sorely missed. I love you Tyrion.💕

Tyrion was back in to the vet today. He finished his course of antibiotics a few days ago and he has since slid backwards, and it seems like the length of time with it just wasn't quite long enough to kick the pneumonia. So he is right back on meds now, for a longer time this time around, and hopefully it's enough to get rid of it this time for good.

We knew when these meds started that Tyrion's condition was serious and could just as easily take a turn for the worse as it could get better. Thankfully, it's been the latter!

He is much more himself, more active and not looking so sad all the time. I'm so relieved, and while we know it isn't a permanent solution since he still has cancer, I'm glad we at least have him back to feeling comfortable!

We took Tyrion back in to the vet today as he has been not himself the past couple days. His cataracts are progressing at a very fast rate so we thought maybe it was the speed he was losing his vision making him that way, but we wanted to be sure. When he got to the vet he did start breathing heavier and it was a little more apparent there that he was having some trouble with respiratory effort, so our focus shifted to the thymoma and getting x-rays to confirm if that had changed and if so, if it was pressing on anything.

He has some fluid build up in his chest and seems to have something brewing in his lungs, perhaps pneumonia starting (we have no idea where he may have picked something up, but he is very immune suppressed right now so it could have been anything) so we are going to try and aggressively start antibiotics and diuretics.

There is also concern with the lens breaking down in his eyes, so he will be starting an anti inflammatory med to help make those feel better too.

Darn cataracts. There wasn't any cloudiness to his eyes in September. They sure came on quickly.

Our little guy has very quickly and unexpectedly developed cataracts. He hasn't been himself for a while now, we are starting to think it's due to his vision loss. We know the thymoma is also a concern. But he still seemed happy a d active despite it, especially after starting prednisone. But the last couple weeks especially, he is much less active, sleeps more, and just not quite his normal self. He gets a little startled when touches, even though we are talking to him when approaching him.
It is really hard watching these changes happen and feeling unable to do more to help him. He was 10 in July, so I thought maybe it was a bit of age and arthritis. But I think he is just losing his sight quickly and he's confused what's happening.

Tyrion has been a bit off and we noticed about a week ago that his eyes have really started clouding over. It really is mind boggling how quickly they can develop cataracts.

They did a tear duct flush as his eyes, mainly his left one, has been a bit weepy and the fur was starting to mat. So they did a little shave to clean that up. He is already on prednisone for the cancer, a med to help prevent ulcers, now eye drops as well.

Despite all the meds and vet visits, he is still a good boy willingly takes it all.
