Wow. Where do we begin?
For a number of years now, one of our biggest questions going into the sale at Ravenna Auction has been, “How are we possibly going to top the sale that we had last year?” Somehow, beyond our wildest dreams, this annual trip has continued to grow into an even bigger, better, more exciting event every year!
To the buyers and bidders, the spectators and supporters, the friends, families and fans who have continued to support us through this sale: thank you! It is no small role that you play in this event. Thank you for sharing your stories, for providing loving homes for our horses, for telling people about the sale, for watching and cheering online, and for attending yourselves. Most of all, thank you for believing in our horses and our program as much as we do. We truly mean it when we say that coming to Ravenna is a highlight for us each year, not just for the sale, but for catching up with all of you, and celebrating the thing that we all love so much: these Clay Ranch Horses.
Finally, thank you to the entire team at Ravenna Auction LLC. Year after year, we could not hand-pick better crews to be working in the barn, in the ring and behind the scenes making this all happen. Our gratitude for each and every one of you and what you do is hard to put into words. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this dream with you.
Speaking of dreams, there are a number of dream-come-true moments that we have experienced through this sale.
✅ multiple repeat buyers that attend year after year
✅ people that know and love our bloodlines as much as we do
✅ high-sellers from our very own home-raised breeding stock
✅ yet another record high-seller, a knock-out filly, from one of our own young Clay Ranch mares.
And somehow, this has become a sale that is so much more than a sale! It’s a place where we laugh together in the auction ring, we cry over the same losses, and cheer on the same victories. It feels so much bigger than just our family, and we couldn’t be more proud that our horses are what this beautiful event is growing around.
This is the stuff that dreams are made of, folks! Thank you all for being part of this amazing journey with us! Once again, we find ourselves wondering, “How are we ever going to top that?!” But if there’s anything we’ve learned from the last (almost!) decade of doing this sale, it’s that this thing has taken on a whole incredible life of its own, and we are more than happy to be along for the ride. We are still reeling from all the excitement and joy we shared with you all yesterday, and are eager to see what develops over the coming months as we prepare for next year’s TENTH ANNUAL sale! You can trust that we’ll be brainstorming, smiling and reminiscing all the way back to Manitoba.
