Millie In a Food Coma
The babies enjoyed some new treats tonight. This is Millie’s last night with us before she goes home tomorrow :)
Dior gave birth today, so far it looks like shes just had one. Based on how much weight she’s gained that baby will be WELL fed that’s for sure 😂
Loonie & Moxie In the sensory pen
The babies are two weeks old now which means it’s time to start evaluating them to find them the right homes. The sensory pen looks kind of ridiculous but it’s actually a really good way to desensitize the babies and to see how they react to certain things. In this video we can see that the typically very happy Loonie is getting pretty cranky with her brother crawling all over her. If that behaviour is a pattern we would not place her in a home that was interested in cohabitating her with another hedgehog.
Stormy surprised us with SEVEN babies last night, Once we’ve gone through our waitlist we will have a few available to reserve 🙂
We’re still waiting on Ginger’s babies, and by the looks of it she’s ready for them to come out too lol ❤️🦔
We have little cameras in all of the mama’s cages just to keep an eye on them and their babies, and sometimes we get gems like this lol
This is Stormy’s way of saying “Go to your room, I need some me time” 😂
Stormy’s babies are 4 days old and thriving! it’s not super common to see this much of the hoglets at this age, but we snuck a peak while she was having some much deserved dinner 😉.
Fun fact about hedgehogs: When they’re born their quills are actually pliable and are concealed under a layer of skin, that slowly dissolves within the next few hours. Knowing that, it’s pretty crazy how spiky they are in just 4 days time! 🦔❤️
