Fast n FURious Flyball Dog Racing Club

Fast n FURious Flyball Dog Racing Club Originally known as Atlantic Dog Sports, our team was formed in1997. We have been the only Region 10 Regular Division Champions and speed record holders since!!

We raced to our first region championship and set our first speed record in 2000 and never looked back! We are also the most recent Region 10 Multibreed Champions and speed record holders (2005, 17.25). Our previous speed record was 16.49 set against Rocket Relay in July, 2008 at our home summer tournament, The Dogfathers of Confederation, and it was smashed in September of 2011 at FAME's Dieppe tournament where we ran a 16.38. Stay tuned because we have more speed to come!

It was a bittersweet day. A while ago, Peggy's dog Jasper, who we now own since her passing, was named our Region MVP. Today, Peggy's family joined us in presenting his award.

We also have a tradition in flyball called a Rainbow Run. The link below is Peggy's Rainbow Run. We ran an empty spot in the third spot, so her spirit could run with us one last time.

HOME!! Great tournament! Thank you to OMG for hosting and for all the fun and extras. Congratulations to all the dogs and handlers, especially those who were working on green dog, single dog, or debuting a dog! And congratulations to all the successes of the weekend for all dogs, handlers, and teams. Some of our personals are:

Congratulations to Kelsey on her first tournament! She ran Jasper full time and flawlessly with incredible passes. She also had to adjust to run behind a new dog and did it without a sweat! She also got commandeered to box load for CC and did an awesome job with that! Thank you to her boyfriend Aaron who was there the whole weekend to help out!!

Congratulations to our titles: Flyball Master for Turtle, FDCh Gold for Temper, and Flyball Dog and Flyball Dog Master for Venti! Darwin and Favor did great in green dogs. Java posted some nice times flawlessly in single dog.

Couple of cool things from us this weekend. This is Temper's THIRD debut season. She debuted and then we had Covid shutdown. She debuted again and then got badly injured by fluke at home. After two surgeries and many, many, MANY hours of physio, commitment, and hard work from Diana, Temper is back to full time on our Division One team, FnF Flat Out. Also, Flat Out ran a 16.02 today, so close to the 15s. We have not run this fast since 2016 so in terms of dogs, this is a brand new team of dog's so we are counting it as a new personal best. We also placed first in Division One today. This took years of work and rebuilding, to play par on par with the fastest of the fast again. To place first today, and undefeated, was just cream.

See everyone soon in Borden. Until then, run fast and hold yer balls!!

Fast n FURious is GUTTED to hear of the passing of Edge.

To say I was in total love with this dog is an understatement. Dear brother and littermate to my KaBoom and fantastic dad to Berzerkr, he is a legacy that will be missed.

What some folks maybe don't know is that, for a brief time before going to Amanda, Edge was in the Prince Street Puppy Project for a few days where the students played lots of ping pong puppy with him and he got tons of cuddles.

This line is incredibly intuitive to people and can snuggle and love on you to a high level. I am so thankful to have an Edge baby!

Fast n FURious are devastated to announce the passing of our teammate, Peggy Arsenault, this past Monday. She played with us for over 20 years and was committed!

She found out she was ill in September and in fact, was already aware she was quite sick when she was racing her dogs at our home tournament in September. A Celebration of Life is planned for March. Jasper will continue to race under the FnF colors. He is currently living with Chris and Eileen Higginbotham and he will live out the rest of his days being loved by them. He has settled in very well and he and Thing have become fast friends and active playmates. Peggy's nephew Shawn and his wife Angela will love and care for Sasha and Sherlock.

It is with great sadness that FnF formally announces the passing of Jetta last month

Jetta was born July 4, 2009. She was a BorderStaffie bred by Aaron Robbins. Jetta earned her first racing titles in Charlottetown in 2010 at just 16 m old! Jetta competed at the CanAm Classic in Indiana in Oct 2011. She is one of the only four dogs to race in the Classic finals from the Atlantic region. Jetta had many successful years of racing, earning her FDGCh 40,000 in 2017 and of course, the best title of all, her Iron Dog in 2019. Jetta retired from her successful career at our home tournament in the fall of 2019. In addition to many titles earned in regular division racing, Jetta earned several Multibreed titles all the way up to MBDCh-G in 2012.

Jetta became a true daddy's girl in her retirement. We extend our deepest sympathies to momma Dianne, dadda Bryan, and human sister Lori. Jetta's sister Lexi continues to race with FnF and will hit the lanes again in the spring.

Fast n FURious is absolutely gutted to share the passing of Viper. Viper is one of the OG BorderStaffies that came to FnF via Rocket Relay. She began her racing career in 2009 and retired in 2013 with the title of Flyball Master Champion. Now, that was just part of her incredible career.

Viper raced as sole height dog on our Division 1 team Airwave. During her time, she raced to many personal bests and championed her team to several Region 10 speed records and Region 10 Championships.

Viper and her momma Rachel Hope travelled all over the Atlantic and eastern Canada region to race. She even went to the CanAm championships in Indianapolis and helped get her team to the finals, FnF being one of the eight teams invited to participate and the only team from Region 10 to date to have made it to the final rings.

Viper has made an indelible mark on the racing history of FnF and we pass on to her family, Rachel, Gerry, MacKenzie, and MacKenzie our very deepest sympathies.

FnF mourns the loss of Tribute, aka Tribs! A fantastic Mal and a huge loss to her family and her team.

Extra hugs to Amanda and Casey who should not have to endure another loss so close to losing Lust.

Run fast and free sweet baby.....

Sadly, Maple Leaps has had to say goodbye to another teammate today, Tribute you will be missed.

Amanda and Casey had toyed with the idea of getting a Malinois, actually, Casey toyed with it Amanda was a definite no. But after meeting and spending some time with a couple of fabulous Mals the idea didn’t seem to be so far fetched. The thing with getting a Mal is you really need the right one for your home, these are not a breed for the faint of heart. As with all the wonderful things about the dogs that come into our lives the stars aligned and a 2.5-year-old female was unexpectedly available.

Everyone always thinks they have the best dog and none of us are wrong but if you own a Mal, sorry you are wrong, the best Mal that anyone could possibly meet was Tribute. She was a workhorse, loved to do all the things fast and furious with a little crazy to boot but ask for a sweeter dog and you’d be hard pressed to find one. Her noises alone should have been enough to keep people back but once you realized it was just for show you learned to ignore it. She had lots of ideas about what was fun for her, they included taking handlers down in the run back at flyball and then doing the Tribute pounce to make sure you stayed there all the while not letting go of that tug.

She would also be so excited to race that sometimes she could not be convinced to p**p prior to racing. Sadly, more than one person felt the impact and heard that plop of being hit with s**t when she hit her tug. (Sorry Carl!!)

As the as***le team we are we loved to give an extra “ready” or two when Tribs was in the lane so that the job of holding her was just a little tougher than it had to be.

Sometimes at practice the bite sleeve would come out just so we could laugh at some more of her antics. A few brave/crazy teammates would give it a try over the years.

She wasn’t only a great flyball dog but an amazing partner in disc and has a personal best of a catch at 130 feet.

She even tried dock diving, but she hated the water so much that it quickly became more like gymnastics as she balanced herself on the tiny edge of the pool.

As much as Tribute excelled at everything she did, her favourite thing was to play with puppies. Lots of dogs play with puppies, lots of dogs will tolerate puppies but I don’t think any dog got as much joy out of spending time with puppies as she did.

Rest easy girl, there will be lots of old and new friends at the Bridge ready to play but I hope they put you in charge of all the puppies.

SPOTS ARE ALL NOW FILLED! Thank you!

REEEEEEAAAADDDYYYYY, SEEEEET, GO! Are you interested in flyball?

On the evening of Friday, May 26, FnF are hosting an Open House/Try It night. What do you need to know?

** You and your dog come. You need to be able to leave your dog in the car in a crate or to bring a crate into the facility. You will be engaged for an hour or two. Your dog will be working with you for about 15 minutes or so. We will show you the sport, talk to you a bit, try some things out with you and your dog (only you and your dog will work during the Try It Out spot, and you will be invited to stay for the rest of the practice). Only a flat collar, flat harness, or martingale collar and flat leash are permitted. Prong, pinch, and electronic collars are not permitted at any flyball location. Bring high value treats, a favorite toy, a water bowl and water, etc with you. Family members are welcome to come with you.

** This is the only date and time for our Open House for the next couple of months or so. If you like it and are interested, you may want to take our classes. If you can't make this time, keep checking our page for the next round.

** We are only taking about 15 people with one dog each to the Open House night. This is a chance for us to meet you and your dog, for you to meet us and see the sport, and see if flyball classes and perhaps the sport of flyball may fit into your life.

It is with great sorrow that we share that Friday we said good bye to Floss. She was a big part of her family for 13 years. She was a great dog with the kids who also enjoyed a good weekend of Flyball or a morning run. She was one of the great ones, run free little lady!

Floss will be missed.

Our Story

Originally known as Atlantic Dog Sports, our team was formed in 1997. We raced to our first region championship and set our first speed record in 2000 and never looked back! We have been the only Region 10 Regular Division Champions and speed record holders since! In May 2017 we finally broke into the 15 second club, setting a new club record of 15.95 in Truro, NS, but now chasing the Region 10 teams who have raced past us!! Stay tuned because we have new energy and more speed to come!
