Welcome to our all new followers! Here is a little about us, the Van Maren family, and our Labs 😍
We are Cornel and Tamara Van Maren and we live on a blueberry and hazelnut farm in Chilliwack with our two rambunctious sons and three special Labs!
A few fun facts about us:
1. We have both had dogs our whole lives, but started breeding registered Labs a few years ago.
2. We consider our dogs to be a part of our family! When placing our puppies into their forever homes, we strive to send them to families with this same mindset.
3. As mentioned, we live on a blueberry and hazelnut farm! That means for most of July we are busy with blueberry harvest and September and October are spent harvesting hazelnuts 😃
4. Our favourite family vacation spot is Tofino: fishing, beaching, hiking, and relaxing on Island time. 🏝️
5. We have 2 female Labs, Clover (4) and Remi (2). Clover just had a beautiful litter of yellow and fox red Lab puppies. We are hoping that Remi will have her first litter this fall! Yay!
6. Jack is our male yellow Lab. He is 5, and the best family dog. We love all three of our Labs and their 3 very unique personalities!

4 weeks old! (Tomorrow😅)
Sweet girls are growing so quickly. Their personalities starting to shine through🎀💕they spend most of their day napping, but their awake time is usually spent harassing each other, or their mom😂🥰
They started solids this week!

We expect a range of yellow and fox red Lab puppies. Puppies are raised on our family farm for their first 8 weeks and treated with love, care and affection.

EXCITING NEWS!
Clover (and Jack) had a beautiful litter of 8 puppies early Friday morning.
The puppies are thriving and Clover is getting lots of rest. We are so in love!
The puppies will be ready for rehoming on March 10.

MEET… US!

We just thought we’d do a little post on who we are, the “Van Maren Labs” family!

We are Cornel and Tamara Van Maren.

We have 2 rambunctious boys and live on a 75 acre farm.
In addition to our dogs, we have a lot going on to keep us busy. A few things about us:
1. Cornel farms hazelnuts and blueberries. Between these two crops, he keeps busy year round on the farm.
2. We have many different pets on the family farm: chickens, pigs, cows… we’ve also had cats, goats and geese in the past.
3. Our dogs are our pets, first and foremost! We spend every day with them and include them in our day to day activities.
4. Both Cornel and Tamara grew up with Labrador retrievers. So naturally, when we got married, we soon purchased our first lab puppy. Over the past few years, we have began to breed purebred labs. We now have solely CKC registered labs, and are hoping for our very first litter of registered lab puppies to be born in early 2023!

We love being in this business and meeting so many lovely people who provide wonderful homes to our puppies. It is so great to see the puppies growing up in fun, loving homes!

Meet our dogs🥰

R E M I 💖

Remi is our 8 month old CKC registered yellow lab female. Her coat is a very light yellow/almost white! At 8 months old, she’s the same size as Clover, who is full grown!

Some interesting facts about Remi.
1. When we purchased Remi as a young puppy, we decided her full registration name should be Remi Joy. She has certainly lived up to her second name and provided so much joy in our family!
2. Remi is a typical teenager and needs several scoldings each day. “Remi, no chewing shoes” “no, Remi, those plants are not edible” “Remi, don’t pick on your siblings”😅
3. Remi loves to swim. She especially enjoys our rather-dirty creek, and is a dark brown/black when she emerges from her swims in there 🤪🤢
4. Remi loves our kids and is very tolerant and patient with them. She will endure poking, grabbing, sand showers… and if it’s too much, she will simply walk away.
5. Remi loves to play. She spends most of her day playing with Clover and Jack. When they’re too tired, she will play by herself: playing “fetch”, chewing sticks and toys, or even chasing her tail. Silly girl!

Meet our dogs🥰

C L O V E R 🍀

Clover is our 2.5 year old registered lab female. She is known as a “fox red” lab. Did you know that the fox red colouring is simply a dark shade of yellow? This colour has been around as long as the Labrador breed itself; however, in recent years it has become more popular and due to higher demand more fox red labs are being bred.

Fun facts about our dear Clover.
1. We purchased Clover earlier this year when she had just turned 2. The transition to our farm was difficult for Clover, as she’s naturally a shy dog. It took her a few weeks to realize we were her new family, but now that she’s adjusted, she’s extremely loyal to us.
2. Clover is an excellent guard dog. She rarely barks, but when she does, it’s to notify us that someone “strange” is on the property.
3. She is amazing at playing fetch! Clover loves to play fetch and recently we’ve been introducing her to the “chuck-it” and she loves it!
4. Clover gets the “zoomies” multiple times a day. It is hilarious to watch! She races around the yard with her tail between her legs (if you know, you know!) and a huge smile on her face.
5. Clover is a definite “morning person”. She wiggles happily, gives lots of licks, and jumps up and down when we let her out in the morning. It’s so nice to be greeted by her happy demeanour in the morning!

It’s not very often that an adult dog plays with another female’s puppies. But Jack does. He’s so gentle and loves playing with all puppies. A real gem, that boy! 🥰

Remi travelled to BC with this gorgeous BOY! To help with the stress of travelling, Remi’s brother came with her in the crate. Travelling with your sibling is so much easier than travelling alone.
We promised the puppies’ breeder that we would find a wonderful new home for this beautiful male.
