For tank size, aim for at least 20 gallons, providing plenty of plants and hiding spots like caves. They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water (pH 6.0-7.5) and a temperature range of 76-82°F (24-28°C).

As omnivores, they enjoy a varied diet of high-quality pellets, frozen or live foods, and some vegetable matter. Regular water changes are essential to maintain good water quality since they are sensitive to poor conditions.
