We have had a couple potential families ask us about Air Travel for shipping puppies . This is something that North Raven has not done yet . I have heard positive thing and negative things about puppy air travel and we want to do what’s best for our pups .

For our future litters I will be doing some research on best options for those from further away . We have always made a commitment to delivering directly to the families or having pick up from our residence .

Please have patience with us as we move forward in this direction for our clients .

We have been getting lots of questions about “ The Tails” . Here at North Raven we DO NOT dock our dogs tails . While we have in the past , things have since changed . You will notice that Tonka has a docked tail and Kona still has hers . This is because we got Kona in BC where tail docking has been illegal longer than here in AB . In Alberta it is now illegal for Vets and Breeders to dock tails .

When you think of the classic Rotti look - you think of the docked tail . While it does look good ( if done right and it’s not too long or too short ) , docking tails puts the young two day old pups in a painful and stressful situation .

This is good article on non medically essential animal surgeries/ modifications and it shows you where tail docking is illegal .

We believe the pups should keep their tails.
