Today was a good day with Thor. This am he came out of the kennel on his own. Well the food bowl helped. And he walked outside with me. He got to meet a couple of the neighbours dogs. One was a Pyrenese.. Thor was more interested in them than they were in him.
Later this afternoon, he whined in his crate so we went outside with Bullet. Thor p*ed right away. Yay.
Everytime we went out today Bullet went with us. She was a good girl and didn't do anything. I was proud of her as well. If you know Bullet you will understand.
Over all today was a great day and Thor was amazing.
Until tomorrow.

School starts next week. All the sudden your dog is home alone. That is no fun for your pup. Have you considered having a dog walker come to your home and walk your dog? We have a back to school special. Contact me for more info on dog walking.

Meet Thor. He is the newest member of my pack. Two new things for me, a small dog and a male. I usually like bigger dogs and females but thought it was time to expand my horizens.
Thor arrived on Wednesday. He came from a home where training was not a big deal. He didn't know how to walk on a leash, p*e outside, live with big dogs, and I am sure there is more. The lady that had him did however do a couple of major things with these pups. They do not bark or bite. At least yet and hoping it stays like that. He will be a dog. He will learn to walk on leash, potty outside and be a good boy. I am excited to start our new journey together. And Bullet will be learning to like little dogs. So far she has been nice to him.

Crates are where we put our dogs for safety. We do not expect them to get hurt when in the crate. I have always preferred the wire crates as there is more air circulation and the dogs can see. what is around them. Some dogs prefer wire, some the plastic. My dogs will go in either.
So Miss Ethel went for her morning nap. She usually gets up for about 2 hours then needs some sleep until late afternoon. She ran in her crate like she usually does. All is quiet. All the dogs are sleeping. I am working on my computer. Then I hear this strange sound from down the hall. It is a long steady cry. Bullet runs down the hall to see and I am behind her. She stands at the gate. I listen and it is from the bedroom. I turn on the light and go in. Ethel has got her lower jaw stuck in between the wires and cannot get it out. I try pushing her muzzle. Nothing. Then I think her teeth are stuck around one of the bars. It is just me and the dogs. She is getting louder. I try pushing and pulling on the wires. Nothing happens. All these thoughts are going through my head. What to do? Then I push under her jaw on the wire and pull on the other wire. I had to stop for a minute and see if she could pull out. Thankffullly, she go out. A few bent wires and all is good. I had to hold her for a bit to let me get calmed down and have a look in her mouth. She was fine. She ran and jumped and was as crazy as usual when she gets up. And by the time I got out to the front room she had found a sock and it was in her mouth. I took it and she found the other one. She is her old self.
Now as I sit here I wonder if I should leave her in a wire crate or a plastic crate? What can happen in a plastic crate? What if I wasn't home. The what if story is only a story. Make peace and be grateful she is ok. She will still be in a crate as she could get hurt more if left loose.

Took Bullet by herself on a early morning walk. It has been a bit since she got to play on her walk. She is practicing all the things we learn in doggy daycare training sessions. It also keeps her fit for when we play Disc.
