Miss Ethel, did you forget everything you learned the last two days. Thanks for bringing one slipper in and putting it on the couch. Then one soggy slipper that you jumped on the couch with. When I took them, that didn't mean you could go find some socks.`

Finished another round of Puppy Life Skills last night.
Congrats to Sophie, Maverick, Tosh (they could not attend last night) `and their people. And Ethel and Kyla.
You guys were great to help and fun. It was nice to work with a couple purebred dogs. The Giant Schnauzer and the Scotty. They are few and far between. Then there are the Doodles.
Thanks for letting me get to know you and your pups.

Well, Miss Ethel, what a good girl. You would think I would learn, but no. Ethel was easier to teach than me..Both slippers on the couch today. What will tomorrow bring?

Ethel has this thing about my slippers. My little hoarder thinks they belong outside. Or maybe she just likes to help me get my steps in everyday. Don't know which but if they are not on my feet and on the floor, they are fair game. Today I found one slipper on my couch. I searched for the second one. Could not find it anywhere. So I went to put my runners away, and guess what I found. That is correct. My SLIPPER. She only took one.
I wonder if this means that she is starting to not steal them. Oh, how I hope.

Was a wet but great day at the Cobble Hill Fair.
Met lots of people.
We sold enough cookies to make a $50 donation to Balfour's Friends Foundation. $1 gor each vag off cookies is donated to this foundation.
It is a great cause. Check out their website

Little Miss Ethel came for a snuggle and belly rub. I used to do this when she was Little and I calmed her down
Today she squirmed and wiggled onto her back beside me for belly rubs.
So happy with her personality. For the.most part. 🤪

I have been working with other peoples dogs for over 20 years. I am insured and have my First Aid.
I am always taking a new course on line. This gives me many different ideas and ways to train. I love learning new things for my dogs and client dogs. I have participated with different dogs or am involved in many sports or activities. Lately it has only been obedience, disc, and scent work. Loving all these activities. I have participated in agility, draft, herding, tried dock diving, scootering, lure coarse.
I know what I am able to do and when I cannot help someone with a dog issue. I know when to pass the dog off because they need something different than what I do.
When I was looking through the groups on facebook I see people who are not full time in the dog business charging these high rates. Even when I go to other dog businesses and compare I am still charging less.
My clients that I have now are amazing. That is the dogs and people as both are my clients. I am fortunate to share lives with the dogs I do. I think I am down to two of my original dogs from the original daycare.
As life evolves it is time to change some things in daycare. What would you say is important for you and your dog in the daycare? I would love some input. I will be putting together some new packages for September. Watch here for more details over the summer.

Took Ethel to the Mill Bay Fire Department open house on Saturday. She was a very good pup. No jumping, barking. She stood politely for pets from everyone. Met some older kids and did great. Met a RCMP officer. Had compliments on her behavior. I did confess that she came partly this way.

Ethel had a vet appointment the other day. So while waiting we practiced some commands. I decided to see how she did with leave it. I had not taught her this and didn't think she would. Boy, did she surprise me. She sure learns fast. Then we practiced commands she knew.
