✨ Meet Charlie! ✨
Charlie is a fun-loving teenage pup who knows how to enjoy life to the fullest. His pawrents did an amazing job socializing him as a puppy, and now we’re focusing on fine-tuning his basic skills as he navigates the adolescent stage. 🐾💪

👉 Trainer Tip for Adolescent Dogs:
Adolescence can be a rollercoaster—think big feelings, lots of energy, and a dash of forgetfulness! Consistency is key. Keep training sessions short, positive, and engaging to help your pup stay on track during this growth phase.

📸 Way to go, Charlie & family—you’re setting him up for long-term success! 💙🐶

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

The Jane Goodall Institute is incredibly grateful to all our supporters, partners, and friends, especially during this difficult time. To add a personal remembrance of Dr. Goodall and continue her legacy for future generations, please visit JaneGoodall.org/RememberingJane

✨ Meet Simon ✨
This sweet 8-year-old rescue has finally found his forever home! He’s full of wonderful qualities and brings so much joy, but one area we’re focusing on is cooperative care.

Simon needs daily eye drops, and like many dogs, he has some big feelings about people touching his face and eyes. Cooperative care means teaching pets to be active participants in their own care—giving them choices and building trust so that things like nail trims, brushing, and even eye drops can feel safe instead of scary. 💕

👉 Training tip: Start small! Practice touching near your dog’s face briefly, then reward with something amazing (like their favorite treat). Over time, pair gentle handling with positive experiences so your dog learns they’re in control and good things happen.

Cooperative care isn’t just about medical needs—it’s about creating a stronger, more trusting bond. 🐾

🐾 Puppy Housetraining Tip 🐾
Bringing home a new puppy is so exciting—but housetraining can feel overwhelming at first! The key to success is consistency, patience, and prevention.

✨ Top Tips for Success:
1. Take your puppy out often – after naps, play, meals, and every 1–2 hours.
2. Reward right away – celebrate outside potty moments with treats and praise within 2 seconds!
3. Supervise indoors – use baby gates or a leash to keep an eye on your pup and prevent accidents.
4. Crate time = potty training helper – crates teach bladder control and keep your puppy safe.

💡 Remember: accidents are part of learning! Stay positive, keep a routine, and your pup will get it.

🐾 Meet Bruce! 🐶✨ What a handsome boy he is!

Like many pups, Bruce has been finding it tough to stay calm on leash when other dogs are around. We introduced some fun training games designed to change the way he feels about those encounters—helping him build confidence and feel safer in the world. 💛

With patience, consistency, and positive experiences, Bruce is on his way to becoming a calmer, happier walking buddy. 🐕‍🦺

👉 Training Tip: If your dog struggles on leash, try creating distance and rewarding calm behavior. This helps them learn that good things happen when they stay relaxed!

✨ Meet Ruth! ✨
This sweet soul loves absolutely everything and everyone 🐾 After our first lesson she was completely tuckered out! We’re focusing on building her leash skills and recall so walks can be more fun (and a little less pulling).

💡 Training Tip: If your dog struggles with recall, start by practicing in a quiet, distraction-free space. Reward them every single time they come to you — make yourself the most exciting option! 🎉

Meet Winnie! 🐾
We had such a great session today working through some of her behaviour concerns — like big reactions on leash when she sees other dogs or people, and learning to manage that over-the-top backyard play excitement.

✨ Training Tip: If your dog tends to get overaroused, keep play sessions short and mix in calming activities like sniffing games, food puzzles, or practicing simple cues. This helps them learn how to settle faster and keeps the fun positive!

Proud of Winnie and her people for all the hard work they’re putting in 💛
