Next up on our socialization Do's and Dont's: New and Novel situations. When we are talking about novel experiences, we want to look for things that your puppy is not accustomed to. If you live in the city🌃, go explore a farm and the wilderness, if you live in the country🌲 make a point to visit a town or city. Think about different textures of flooring, movements of vehicles or elevators. Introducing things in a positive way that are not everyday experiences is a great way to increase the resiliency in your puppy🐾.

I'm so excited to put the spotlight on the amazing Olive! For the past 3 weeks, Olive has been in my day training program, and to say she ROCKED it is an understatement.

We focused on foundational manners, especially conquering that tricky puppy jumping. This pup is as sharp as a tack and would often master a new skill in a single session! It has been an absolute joy partnering with her and her incredible owner.

Now, I'm saying a bittersweet goodbye as Olive sets off on her next incredible journey: Therapy Dog Training! 🐾 I have no doubt she is going to be a star and bring comfort to so many. Go get 'em, Olive!

It's been an honor to guide these wonderful pups through their first steps in learning and socialization. We've loved every moment of their journey, from their first tentative steps into the playroom to their confident graduation struts.

It is so important that your puppy meets all kinds of people. 👫Not just any people, but of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, ages and different dress.👮‍♀️ Think about how much variety there is in our world when it comes to people and try to make it your mission to help your puppy have positive associations with all kinds of people. Pro Tip: They do not need to interact with every person to have a positive association. Sitting in a park, 🏞outside a store, or even on your front stairs and watching the world🌍 go by can be part of your socialization plan.

We often get asked "when will we be done training?" When we are done working with you our hope isn't that you are "done" your training, but you have the skills to continue supporting your dog through their life. 🐾Training is a journey throughout your dogs life, and is never truly done.🛤 If you enjoy training, and have fun with it then its no longer a chore, but part of your everyday life with your dog. Training SHOULD be FUN! If its not fun then reach out so we can help you learn to enjoy the journey! 😍 ❤️🐾
