Our dear, sweet friend Luna had quite the eventful long weekend when she took a tumble while running in turbo mode and broke her arm. A complete fracture of both her radius and ulna.

Our animal loving daughter and one of Luna’s biggest fans was so worried when she heard the news. So we stopped by with a care package and for some snuggles, yesterday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both her and her wonderful family as she undergoes orthopaedic surgery in Guelph, tomorrow.

We love you sweet girl. 💕

IMPORTANT UPDATE AND CHANGES TO THE BUSINESS:

Hey everyone. It’s been a minute since we posted!
Due to a job change that now has me in Port Hope, full-time and due to a very bad bout of sickness recently, I’ve had to take a step back from Walk N Wag as I haven’t had the time that I did before when I was working part time in Colborne.

I apologize to anyone who we have had to turn away in the last 2 months but I hope the wonderful people I have referred you to have been able to help you out with your fur-babies.
Due to these life changes we have had to cut back on some of our services and availability.

NAIL TRIMS: I am still booking mobile nail trims on the weekends and the odd Friday so if you are in need of a trim for dogs or cats please reach out.

CAT SITTING: I am still offering limited cat sitting but only to those located in the Colborne/Castleton area.

DOG WALKING: We are unable to take on any more dogs for dog walking at this time.

DOG SITTING: We do dabble in dog sitting in our home. If you have a non-shedding dog (daughter has allergies) that is friendly with kids and other dogs and you are looking for a home environment please don’t hesitate to reach out and we will try and help.

We apologize again for an inconvenience and if we’ve had to turn you away recently.

On a happy note, We are dog sitting our friend, Luna this weekend while her family is away.
❤️❤️ She is just the sweetest and our Daisy just loves having a friend over.

After a bit of a break we are back to our regular programming. Lovely summer-like walk this afternoon with the girls, Luna and Daisy.

Our summer schedule for dog walking and pet-sitting is pretty much full but we still have some Friday availability for nail trims. ❤️

Nothing says spring like a picture full of nymph ticks!

This is how small ticks are at this time of year. They look like little specks of dirt. Ticks are out and questing for a blood meal.

Do those tick checks every time you come in from outside. Use a good repellant containing 20% Picaridin/Incaridin.

Just a bit of a brisk walk today with my friend, Luna!

It’s calling for dangerously cold temps tomorrow. Please be sure to keep an eye on your furry friends when taking them outside.

Once temperatures drop under -10°C all pet parents need to be aware that their dogs could develop cold-associated health problems like hypothermia or frostbite when outside for extended periods of time.

The best way to monitor your dog when they’re outside in the cold is to keep a close eye on their behavior. If you notice your dog shivering, acting anxious, whining, slowing down, searching out warm locations, or holding up one or more paws, it’s time to head inside and warm up.

With Valentines Day just around the corner, check out this information on chocolate ingestion in dogs! ❤️

If you suspect your dog has eaten chocolate , call your veterinarian right away with as much information as possible such as type of chocolate, amount eaten and the estimated time of ingestion!

It is also helpful to provide your dogs body weight and to know if any wrappers or foreign objects may have been ingested alongside the chocolate!

We are currently looking to fill a few weekly shifts.

What volunteering means: it means we can continue doing what we do. Having some extra hands at the cafe truly does make a HUGE difference, and we truly do appreciate the helping hands✋️ 😻
Bonus: You get to spend some time with kitties like Comet, who is pictured below!

Shifts are from 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm.
