⏰ Our hours are changing! ⏰

Starting next week (June 26th and onwards), our new hours are as follows:

Monday to Wednesday: 9:30am - 6pm (new!!)
Thursday to Friday: 9:30am - 7pm
Saturday: 9:30am - 6pm
Sunday: 10am - 6pm

Today (Wednesday, June 21st) we are still open until 7pm! Stop by and enjoy the last weeks of our 20% off all dog and cat food 🐶🐱

We’re hiring!

We are looking for another part-time cashier to join our awesome team. The ideal applicant will have cashiering and retail experience, and weekend availability. Of course, as we are a pet store, a love for pets is a must, and having prior pet care knowledge/experience is an asset. Your role will be mainly upstairs so a passion for learning all about our products and ability to lift ~50lbs (dog food is heavy!) is a must.

We had some super cute visitors in today! Baby the cockatoo (one of our staff’s pets!) and handsome C**t!

Pets of all kinds are welcome as long as those with 4 paws on the floor are on a leash. We love meeting your furry (or feathered or scaled..) family members ❤️🐾

**Edit (Feb 21st 2023): Tiger, Ice Cream, and Harry Styles have all found wonderful homes!**

The 3 piggie girls that have been with us since opening are now looking for new homes. We held on to them for so long as we believed they were pregnant (they were surrendered to us and had been housed with two males), but if they had been, they should have given birth over one month ago. We gave them some time just in case, but no babies yet so this lovely herd of ladies want to find their new permanent home! 💖

Tiger, Ice Cream, and Harry Styles would prefer a home together as they are all bonded to each other (and Harry Styles is the mother of Tiger and Harry as we were told by their previous owners). They are all well socialized and sweet, and love their veggie time 🥕🥬

If you’re interested in them, come on by and meet them! We promise you’ll fall in love with them 🐷💖

A quick look at some of the pets we have here at MrPets in Courtenay! Some new faces arrived today to join our “zoo” 🐾🐍🐠🐹

**Some pets pictured are still in “quarantine”, which is something we do for roughly 1-2 weeks after arrival to ensure that all our pets are in good health before they find their new homes. Any pets in-store who are still under this quarantine period (including fish) will have a label on their enclosure, but we always have staff downstairs who can answer any questions 😊

We have leopard geckos, hamsters, mice, rats, and one male bearded dragon all available. Come by and say hi! ❤️🐾

Our fish tanks are still cycling so no fish available yet, but hopefully soon! 🐟🐠

Are you a pet lover looking to work in a fun and fast-paced environment with like-minded folks? We're looking for a part-time cashier with weekend availability! If you think you might be a good fit for the team, please swing by the store with your resume!

Major preference will be given to mature and reliable applicants with prior retail/cashiering experience. Pet care experience and/or knowledge isn't required (though it's a big asset), but a love for pets and ability to learn all about them and our wide product selection on the job is important! Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly, weekend availability is preferred as well.

UPDATE: Both boys have found loving homes! ❤️

If you’re looking for a new little buddy to join your family, you’re in luck! Both of our male guinea pigs are looking for new homes! 🥰🐹

Panda 🐼 and Pumpkin 🎃 are two adult male guinea pigs who were surrendered to us and are now looking for their new families. They are both handled by our staff daily, so are very well-handled and very people friendly! They love attention, scratches, and especially fresh veggies. Everyone in the store always knows when it’s dinner time from their wheeking!

With the rainy season finally upon us, we’re all stuck inside! 🌧

Your dog may not be able to get outside for exercise, so indoor activities are a great way to still get them the mental stimulation they need. We have lots to choose from - from puzzles to snuffle mats to Kong toys you can stuff with treats!

Panda is our first pet to be looking for a new home here at MrPets in Courtenay! He’s super friendly with people and loves attention (and fresh veggies🥬🥕🥒). He’s been very well handled and loved on by all our staff.

We have tag engraving! 🏷✍️

Our My Family system lets you easily engrave your own tag, the hardest part is deciding which tag to pick! 🤔

We have a wide range of double-sided aluminum tags as well as charms you can engrave on the back.. we think Cottonball looks quite handsome in his Daisy Charm Tag! 🤍🌼
