Meet Lou! 🐾 He is such a brave boy for his nail trims, but he wasn’t always! Consistency has made such a big difference for him, and of course some treats and being snuggled up on his bed always helps ☺️ We love seeing the progress pets can make!

Our third year fundraising for Movember was a huge success! 💙✨ We trimmed over 70 pets nails and raised $2145 in one day! In total $3227 was donated the Movember Fund this year! We are so incredibly thankful for everyone who supported us and came out to get pawdicures for their pets 🐾 Here are just a few of the cuties we got to see that day ✨

Cooper wants to remind everyone that we will be at Van Isle Veterinary Hospital on November 30th from 9:00am-6:30pm trimming nails for a great cause! 🐾 All proceeds will be donated to Movember! 💙

Why do we fundraise for Movember?

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide. It is so important that we become more aware of men’s health, and encourage our loved ones to get routine check ups.💙 I hope by fundraising money towards this great cause we can spread awareness.💙

We are so excited to announce that Pretty Pawz will be helping raise money for the 3rd year in a row for Movember!🐾 If you are interested in participating we will be at Van isle vet from 9:00-6:30 on November 30th where you can schedule an appointment to have your pets nails trimmed. Russell is here to wish everyone a Happy Halloween Eve and share some safety tips for your pets! 🎃🐈‍⬛

🐾 Please take extra caution to make sure candy and sweet treats are kept out of reach and locked away

🐾 Watch out for decorations that may seem interesting to pets, you would be surprised what dogs/cats will consume when curious!

🐾 Consider taking steps to avoid anxiety for your pet from fireworks, wether that be a quiet room with the TV on, ear protection, or some anti-anxiety medication, anything helps! You can ask your vet for recommendations 👻

☀️WARM WEATHER ALERT! ☀️

A friendly reminder that we are looking at temperatures between 25-28 degrees this week. This means there can be additional challenges with our pets. We have a few points below to keep them safe and happy!

☀️Keep them out of the direct sun, Even under shade with these temps may not be enough - allowing them near a body of water is a good way to keep them cool, or stay at home in the air conditioning!

☀️Test the pavement! If you cannot comfortably hold your hand flat on the pavement for 10-15 seconds it is too hot for your pet.

☀️Do not leave them in the car at any cost. Leaving windows down is not enough, and they can overheat faster than you think.

☀️Access to water! Make sure they have ample amounts of water, hotter temperatures means we need to hydrate more!

And most importantly….have some fun in the sun! 🫶

We hope everyone had a ‘Hoppy’ Easter weekend! 💛🐣💜

Some tips from us following this holiday include:

• Putting chocolate away in a safe place away from pets! You’d be surprised how determined your pet will be to find that chocolate 😉

• Properly disposing of waste from Easter! Even wrappers, plastic easter eggs, and other household decorations could become dangerous if ingested.

• Remembering to keep flowers such as lillies, tulips, and daffodils away from cats (these are very toxic if ingested and can cause life threatening damage to internal organs)
