Mom and Christian finally took a day off for themselves yesterday! 🙌
Thankfully we aren’t scared of a little snow and cold weather and neither is Smurf! ❄️ He watched us shovel out the kennels and finish tieing the fences so the dogs can run and play! Our cousin Theo was a great commander giggling when the snow flew! 🥰

The play yard is really coming along! All of the debris is out of the way, albeit the grass is still long, the washed rock has been refreshed and the fence is hung!!

You get to see Jeni in her electrician glory 😂 She mounted all the new lights today. We’ll slowly phase out fluorescents because we don’t like the sounds they make. Then she cleaned up all the construction material, organized and took this video just for you!

🥳 Quin’s Kennel is NOW OPEN! 🥳

We are so excited to have the indoor reno’s completed so we can accommodate your furry hounds! This weekend we will be back to work to get the fence hung for the outdoor play area! Not to worry, we’re fully prepared to take your dog for a leashed walk this week and we have their indoor/outdoor runs ready!

Every Remembrance day, we celebrate and appreciate the millions of soldiers who died to protect our sovereignty during WWI and WWII. We are truly blessed to have had the soldiers that fought and died to protect our land.
We would also like to recognize the over 20,000 war dogs who aided our soldiers throughout the war. These dogs would deliver ammunition to soldiers, sniff out ambush parties, and also give soldiers emotional support. This group of furry warriors predominantly consisted of German Shepherds and Doberman Pinschers, which are both breeds renowned for versatile training along with loyal behaviours. One of the most decorated pooches to serve was a mixed shepherd named Chips who earned 6 military awards for serving the allies in WWII. This history goes to show that dogs are companions even through humanities most difficult times. Thank you to the men and dogs that served.

In honor of National Dog Day, think about what it would be like to volunteer your dog for military service.

Today’s crew started at 7 again but we got to shut down at 6 and have a nice family/friend dinner ❤️
We had our first furry guest today. We are honoured to have the previous Lunder’s Lakeside Kennel owner Jeff Lunder’s Kermit here for the weekend. We are so grateful for his knowledge and support on this endeavour!
We had our dear friend Rene, my brother Jeff, sister Joanna, dad Barry, Cadence, Mira, Christian and Jeni working hard today! All of the posts for the play yard are in! Another great and productive day today!

The kennel is ready for our first customer!
