Gorgeous mister Vinny is ready for adoption. He is approximately 1.5 years old. He has been neutered, received first set of vaccinations, treated for parasites, and is ready for his new home.
He is sweet and full of love. He had been recently living under a building for quite some time. He has now been inside for a couple of weeks and seems to be perfectly content to be safe inside. He loves snuggles, cuddling on your lap and gazes up at you with pure gratitude and love.

Unfortunately, they can’t have free access to the house without supervision due to their FeLV diagnosis as there are resident kitties in the home who are negative. So they are confined to the front sunroom when it’s bedtime or when foster parents are not able to supervise. A permanent home is their ultimate dream.

Spotlight on Jersey
We’ll focus on one of the brothers who you have come to all know and love as Jersey, from the Joey & Jersey duo. They are our FeLV positive fosters who have been in our care since June.
Jersey came to us as a terrified 12 week old kitten, and is now an incredibly affectionate love-bug of just over 7 months old.
He has a bold personality that will keep you smiling all day. He prefers drinking water from a tap, he walks with a confident swagger, he wants nothing more to be snuggled close to his humans and Jersey is a gentle boy with no malice in his heart. We have not been scratched or bitten by him even during playtime.
The two brothers do not need to be rehomed together. Each can go to their own homes as individuals. Each need to be indoor only and no other cats unless FeLV positive, or your existing kitty is fully vaccinated and up to date with their FeLV vaccine (not every rescue or vet promotes a mix of positive with negative, so if in doubt, please have that conversation with your own vet and your family should you decide to take on a positive cat with your negative kitty)
Jersey will overcome his initial fear once in his new home. Once he gets to know his new family and realizes they mean him no harm, you will have a loyal companion and fierce friend. We all could learn a lot from Jersey as he possesses qualities to admire. Kindness, playfulness, loyalty, and respectfulness.

A quick hello from the boys!
Jersey and Joey are the epitome of patient! There has been zero interest in the brothers. It’s possible many are not sure because of their FeLV diagnosis. It’s understandable, but how their foster mum wishes she could show you how great they are! She almost wants to set up a permanent live-stream for everyone to see how they are.
They are well behaved, gentle (no biting or scratching from either), clean, ever so playful, and super cuddly when they are comfortable with the humans.
Please consider meeting them to see for yourself. They are being fostered in Smiths Cove and their foster family can arrange a meeting should you like to meet them face to face.

Joey and Jersey are growing fast and becoming such sweet and friendly boys! While their kittenhood days are behind them, they are turning into two of the sweetest kitties. Not a mean bone in their body and just want to play and be loved.
Don’t let their FELV diagnosis scare you. Keeping them healthy with a good diet, plenty of exercise, and lots of love should keep them around a long time. They deserve a chance to overcome and beat the odds with a loving family in their corner cheering them on.

Little Joey has been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride the past few weeks. While he is FeLV positive, the fever and infection he endured over the past week or two is unrelated, his doctors believe. He has had some medication and seems to be back to his normal kitten self!! If you are looking for a companion for your existing FELV positive cat, or, would like a one and only cat to love and spoil, please reach out to us. Little Joey needs a loving home that understands his diagnosis may (or may not!) shorten his lifespan. FeLV is a complicated disease. Typically the lifespan is shortened from the time of diagnosis, but there are many cases where they have lived a long, normal healthy life. What he needs is a family that understands the possibility one way or the other. He needs another vet visit to ensure all his blood work is clear of infection, and he will need a vaccination and a health check certificate, but after that, he hopefully should be ready to go home.

No one has inquired after Winston and we are very surprised!! Don’t let the FIV diagnosis deter you. As long as your current kitties are lovers, not fighters, Winston will not pass it on to them. Only aggressive territorial fights with deep bites will cause a kitty to contract FIV. Please see the write up on Winston from last week. Minou has been freed from the confines of his cage! He’s enjoying the freedom to roam…in the front room at least. We’ll work on his social skills with other cats. He may have free range if all goes well. Minou has epulides. A picture of an example of what they look like are in the comment section. **Adopted** Take a look at this sweet boy! 5-month old Shadow has not had any interest yet! Hard to believe. He is such a charming boy with amazing markings and the cutest face! He is fine with dogs after a slow introduction and loves other cats. He likely would prefer to be in a home with older children, as sudden noises make him a little nervous, so toddlers may not be suitable for him. He is definitely a companion kitty and loves to be around his humans looking for snuggles. He is set to be neutered next week, so he will be available to go home in the week following.
