Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what the hardest part of his job was.

The specialist answered without hesitation that it was more difficult for him to see how many old or sick animals are looking for their owners with their eyes before going to sleep.

The fact is 90% of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal.

People leave because they don't see their pet leave. But they don’t realize that it’s in these last moments of their life that their pet needs them the most.

Vets ask owners to stay close to animals until the end.
