Duncan Animal Hospital is looking for a full time receptionist at our well established small animal practice. We are seeking candidates who excel at prioritizing, time management, attention to detail and good communication skills.
Responsibilities include assisting our lovely clients both in person and by phone, admitting and billing clients out, cleaning and maintaining exam rooms between patients, filling prescriptions, and assisting the vets and staff as necessary.
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic is an asset.
We offer regular full time hours with no evenings or weekends, extended benefits and a generous bonus system. Starting wage $19 with raise after probationary period.

So happy🎉. Shout out to all my fellow ex pats from Ireland and UK - the restrictions on blood donation here have been lifted! We can now donate again😊. Next blood drive in Duncan in February.

Have you ever seen sweeter kittens? Raised by Dr Wiley - these are nine week old babies - three boys and two girls. They are neutered and spayed, vaccinated and dewormed and very much want loving homes of their own. They will soon be at Duncan Animal Hospital for viewing - and falling in love with❤️. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

We are closed for the Christmas break between noon on Friday December 23 and 8am on Tuesday December 27.
Then for new year we will be closed from noon on Friday December 30 until 8am on a Tuesday January 3.

Happy Halloween!
Although fireworks are banned, we still hear them around this time of year. If your pet is terrified by these loud bangs, and has been seen at Duncan Animal Hospital within the past year, call us if you need sedation. Please give us at least two hours notice!

With many apologies to all our clients and to those who have had bookings cancelled, Dr Wiley has had a bereavement and has had to travel to Ireland this week. She will be back on Monday September 26.
In addition, Dr. Johnson has contracted Covid and cannot return for at least five days.
The office is open for sales and phones will be answered during office hours, but in case of emergency please use either Central Island Veterinary Emergency in Nanaimo or Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital in Victoria.
Again, we are so sorry for this break in veterinary service, and hope to rebook you as soon as possible.
