What a day today was! Five Finnish Spitz in the ring. No pictures yet but I will post them as soon as I get them.
Yesterday Miss Kova beat her momma and her half brother for Best of Breed and two points (she's now at 6). Hoshi got Best of Opposite and Best Puppy.
Today the lovely Valo took Best of Breed over her daughter and three sons for 2 points (putting her at the dreaded 9). Mr. Niko beat his two brothers (Hoshi and Otso) taking Best of Opposite and Best Puppy AND his first two points. Miss Kova "volunteered" in the Jr handling ring and is pictured shown by Darian.
Such a FUN day. Can't wait to do it all over again.

Happy Birthday Kova, Ozzy, Maple, Flynn, and Baelin!
Hard to believe that a year has gone by. You were the litter that made us breeders. The first of ours and the first of Valo's. I'm so pleased you have all found good homes and are loved, you deserve it. And how gorgeous you have all turned out. It was so fun watching you for the first 8 weeks, from the second you entered the world until you went to your new homes. I will always remember this very special litter.

For those enquiries who think the price of a reputable bred puppy is too much.
Adapted from another breeder

POTENTIAL OWNER: How much is the puppy?
BREEDER: $3,500
POTENTIAL OWNER: What?? It's way too expensive!!
BREEDER: What do you think would be a good price?
POTENTIAL OWNER: No more than $500. You breeders are so over priced.
BREEDER: I am sorry you see it this way, why don't you try it yourself?
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I've never done it!
BREEDER: For FREE I can teach you how to do it, and in addition you will have the knowledge to do it again.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Perfect, thank you!
BREEDER: To start you will need a female(average cost $5000-9000 and up as there are ONLY 200 breeders in the world so you have import fees and conversion fees.). Also a male(average cost $5000-9000 and up) or semen (average $3000 and up). You will need to show them to their championship to show they meet the breed standard(Minimal $4000 with travel & fees as this is a rare breed). You will need to do genetic & health testing on them, averages about $1500 per dog. Raise and provide daily care, feeding & grooming for 2 years as these are show dogs and should be in excellent condition for ring times. (So minimal $200 per month)
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have that much money...
BREEDER: For $500 you can raise a litter and then keep one of the puppies. Obviously, you will pay the cost of whelping & care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: I can do that.
BREEDER: OK so I have a female due to whelp in 2 weeks. You will need to be available 24/7 around the clock for at least 8 weeks to help with delivery and care.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Eight weeks?? it's way too much time for me! I have to work.
BREEDER: You will also need the reproductive vet to do xrays($200-$500), possibly progesterone testing($75-$250) & C-section($1000-$5000) and initial vet care on pups ($200-500) until old enough to be placed.
Have on hand a scale, thermometer, latex gloves, sanitizer, absorbent tissues, scissors, hemostats, heating pad, whelping box, blankets, cleaning supplies, appropriate food with supplements for mothers, formula, medications & hand feeding supplies in case of emergency....
POTENTIAL OWNER: But I don't have all these things!
BREEDER: For $1500-2000 you can buy them.
POTENTIAL OWNER: Ummm .... You know, I think it might be better if I just buy a puppy.
BREEDER: Wise decision.
For us breeders there are no vacations or holidays, while you go to visit with family & friends we are home at our dogs side caring for them. It is a no breaks commitment.
THIS IS THE REALITY OF BREEDING ETHICALLY
When you choose a professional you don't only pay for the puppy but also:
Tools, knowledge, experience, love, time, sacrifices, etc...

Is it worth having an awesome breeder in your corner? Oh heck ya! We are with you for the lifetime support of your pet and the hope you decide to get another with us later on because the first was that wonderful 🥰❤️

Very fitting that on Valo's 3rd birthday she took Best of Breed. Her and Kova are now tied at 4 points each. Proud of you birthday girl.
This weekend I get a chance to show my friend Major. He's a beautiful Brittany that I adore. We took him to Best of Breed. He even stopped whining in the ring for me. Way to go Major!
I also had the honor of showing Kane a toller owned by my good friend Wendy of Lealee Tollers . He didn't do anything in the breed but he showed so well for me and no hu***ng at all! Love you Kane!
Thank you Wendy for running around the ring with a Finkie. I know they're not your Breed, but you don't hesitate to step up and help me.

No love for the Kinsol girls again today. But we walked away from this weekend with 4 points, tons of laughs, made new friends, explored a new town, and learned a ton. What more can you ask for from a specialty show?

No love for the Kinsol girls in the all breed show. Kova kicked ass in the specialty winning Winners female over 2 other bi***es and best puppy in group. No love for Valo individually. BUT we beat the other brace group, oddly enough mother and daughter as well, winning best brace in specialty show.
