The Biggest Little Farm - Durham Bridge

As some of you may have already heard, we have recently made the very difficult decision to close the farm, effective immediately. We have had some unexpected changes in personal circumstances and unfortunately will no longer be able to continue.
We do hope that this will be temporary and we will be able to reopen in the future. We apologize and thank you all for your understanding and support.

Day 5 of Summer Camp...our last day 🥹

The rain couldn’t stop us from having another day filled with fun together! It was so awesome to see the friendships these girls developed blossom in just 5 short days 💕

We started our day with our farm chores and then took shelter inside for some fun planting seeds and playing games.
Baby bunny snuggles were had yet again, at the request of the girls. This has by far been their favourite thing to do all week 😅

We did a little photo shoot but were sad that some of our friends weren’t here today to join us for it.

After lunch, the rain slowed down so we ventured out for a game of hide and seek and then had a blast swimming! 💦

Even though the weather didn’t always cooperate, we couldn’t have asked for a better week together and I’m truly going to miss all of these girls!!

Day 4 of Summer Camp - Goat Day! 🐐

Another awesome day in the books!

We started the morning with our farm chores and cleaning the goat enclosure out.

We then learned some fun facts about goats and watched a hoof trimming demo.

Next, the kids used things from around the farm to build an obstacle course for the goats and led them through it (with a bit of extra motivation in the form of food 😉), then they gave it a try themselves and we timed them to see who could complete it in the least time!

After lunch we had a special visitor on the farm, Joele Wonitoway and her sweet girl, Fiona!
Joele gave us a wonderful milking demonstration and the kids each got to try their hand at milking.

Next, we took a little break to make some sweet pressed clay ornaments using flowers and leaves that we gathered on a walk.

We shook things up a bit making homemade butter from cream and enjoyed the fruits of our labour on some crackers.

We finished the day off with a campfire, music, and s’mores; and a little bit of goat yoga with one of our farm favourites, Lily!

What a big day!!

Day 3 of Summer Camp - Horse Day! 🐴

Today was the most tiring 😴 but probably my favourite day so far, and I think the kids would agree!

We learned all about horse safety, identifying tack and grooming tools, and some fun facts about horses.

The kids then cleaned, brushed, and braided Winnie and Azalea and gave them lots of love and attention!

We saddled up and learned how to walk and trot, steer, stop, back up, and emergency dismount.

We took a break to paint signs for the kids to take home and they all did an amazing job! I was so impressed with how wonderful they turned out!

We made some yummy homemade treats for the horses that they (and the kids!) enjoyed.

We then saddled back up to do some fun obstacle courses on horseback, and finished the day with…you guessed it, baby bunny cuddles ☺️

Summer Camp Day 2!

The rain didn’t put a damper on our fun!
We brought the bunnies inside for playtime! 🐰

The kids collected materials and made their own rabbit toys, hideouts, and house for their bunnies, which were all very much enjoyed by our furry friends!
They gave their rabbits treats and tried to teach them tricks.

When the rain broke throughout the day we were able to get in a little bit of outdoor playtime and some horse grooming.

The kids cleaned the rabbit enclosures out, and learned all about how to care for bunnies, and we did some fun bunny trivia.

And of course, there were plenty of bunny snuggles enjoyed by all again 😊

Day 1 of Summer Camp at the farm!

The kids had a blast learning all about chickens and ducks, their life cycles, and how to care for them.

They cracked open eggs to see if they were fertile, and had lots of fun doing an egg drop, an egg spoon race, and an egg hunt!

Frog catching at the old quarry was a hit, and they collected items from nature along the walk back to the farm to create their very own animal pictures!

They finished the day off with baby bunny cuddles 🥰
