A true dwarf Netherland Dwarf is the smallest breed of rabbit. (2-2 1/2 lbs grown)
Holland Lops are also a dwarf breed (a true dwarf being 2-4 lbs grown)

That being said breeding true dwarfs is difficult because you get peanuts (which have 2 copies of the dwarf gene and it's 100% fatal) and then there are false dwarfs, which get bigger than the allowed breed weight. So a true dwarf is going to be more expensive in general bc they're not as easy to produce

Great advice when bringing a new bunny home

Getting your bunny to LOVE you💜🐰

We have a bunch of babies leaving over the next few months (and two retiring moms and some juniors who also are departing) so I figured it was a good time to talk about how to build trust the day your bunny arrives at your home.
Always keep in mind that a bunny’s #1 emotion is fear. Rabbits are prey animals so you must gain their trust. The first few days are very important. Let your bunny explore her area. Sit quietly near her and let her sniff you and hop away. This is the fastest way to teach a bunny that you are not a predator. If you chase a bunny I guarantee you that she will fear you. Never scold or yell at a bunny. That will just re-affirm their thoughts that you may be a predator. Any behavioral teaching techniques that are used with dogs are not appropriate for rabbits. Dogs are not prey animals. Under NO circumstance should you ever be physical with a bunny. Bunnies like routines and predictability. Keep the environment calm the first few days.
If you let your bunny sniff you and hop away, she will start spending more and more time near you and she will want to be pet.
Remember also that bunnies are individuals and they are very smart. You can have a very rewarding 10-12 years and a great relationship with your bunny if you develop trust right from the beginning.

Now they look like mini plush lop babies! Their little coats are so thick and curly, but they will shed out to be velvety smooth.

The velvety toads have their eyes open now and it’s warm enough for them to go outside and live with their mama. Checked on them this morning and mama had them under a deep blanket and they are still fat and warm!
