DXE Edmonton is one of many chapters world wide, doing peaceful disruptions to speak out for animals.

The aim of our actions is to shake up what is considered 'normal', to initiate discussion and awareness about what is happening to ALL animals. Direct Action Everywhere's mission is to empower activists to take strong and confident action wherever animals are being denigrated, enslaved, or killed and create a world where animal liberation is a reality. We use creative nonviolent protest to tell th

e animals' story. As a culture, we must open our eyes to the violence that is happening behind closed doors everywhere. We must open our eyes to the common feelings that all animals feel, the common fears that we all fear. Game 7.... I brought more fabulous activists with me this time. The crowd was a bit more aggressive, probably because the Oilers lost, however, we did not get beat up, it was close, but I escaped the wrath of the unhappy oilers fan.

Today we hold a vigil / celebration of life for Regan Russell who was violently and deliberately run over by a transport truck on June 19th, 2020 at Fearmans Slaughterhouse...
While we are unable to go to a Slaughterhouse, we decided to make this not just about her, but about Activists in general. About protecting all activists. We are All Regan Russell. We all deserve the right to protest, bear witness, hold vigils, demonstrations, rally's and marches for the freedom of all animals. We deserve to do all of this SAFELY, knowing we will return home to our own animals who need us, and our own families and loved ones....
Come down and write a message of peace for all activist, for the right to be an Activist, no matter what kind of activist or Change Maker (As Kimberly Carroll would call us) you are, you deserve to go home after your event, not delivered to your loved ones in a body bag.
Regan Russell was murdered, the video shows it plain as day. He got away with it. Smart legal work on his teams part.
However, we know the truth, that is all that matters now, and to share that truth with the world.

On June 19th, Edmonton will be holding a All Day Vigil for Regan Russell at Lilydale Foods (Sofina Foods) on 127th ave and 77 street. ALL DAY. What does this mean for you? This means I have given everyone who is in the city, the opportunity to come by and pay their respects to a woman who started a movement more powerful than she could have ever imagined.
Swing by for 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 2 hours or all day with me. Stay for as long as you can, just drop by for her, for the movement.

June 14 is the day we all come together to demand a ban on live exports. We have all heard the horror stories of these animals left out at sea for months with no medical treatment and in horrific conditions. So many poor souls die on route to where ever they are going. This is another form of suffering beyond words for these animals.
We are headed to the Airport because our city is one of only 3 cities that loves to help Japan get their horse meat. We will take yet another stand at the airport in hopes of gathering more support from the public and possibly the airport. Unlikely, but stranger things have happened.
Maybe we might get a celebrity to join us. If she isn't to busy being awesome.

Aces Flying Pig Races.....I can only imagine how these pigs are kept in order for them to run like that for their food. And lets say he didn't do that and took care of these piglets, treating them like royalty. They should not be made to perform for humans, just so another human can make some money off of them. And come one, lets keep it real here, we know that once these piglet get to be a bit too big, they will become someones breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are no green pastures for these little ones, unless you are speaking of the ones on the other side.....

**Have you sent your letter to Superstore yet telling them to stop selling live Lobsters, fish and crab? Here is an example, but please do your own, or just reword mine a bit***

Good morning,

I am hoping this message finds you considering the implications of holding live lobsters, crabs and fish in tanks in deplorable conditions in your stores.

Every time I go into your stores, I want to rescue these animals from your tanks. The conditions you keep them in, the color of the fish the dirty water, everything is wrong!

These animals have the capacity to suffer and you are perpetuating that suffering by keeping them alive longer than necessary in conditions you wouldn't even go fishing in.
You are a leader in this industry with the ability to set the stage for other stores to follow your standards. SO DO IT!

Why do the bare minimum?? Is it because you truly do not care?
Do you feel it is a waste of your time and money to ensure your customers do not see the suffering you are causing to these animals. Do you feel we do not care about such things?
The last thing I want to see is the suffering the animal went through before it hits my plate. And you are showing it to me. Why don't you just put a slaughterhouse in the back so we can all see how our bacon and beef is processed?

I believe you are failing to think about those of us who do not want to see our food alive. We want our food dead, packaged without the eyes staring at us before we take it home.
You need to stop selling live animals. It is barbaric, out dated and cruel to keep them locked up in a small tank, no matter what situation they came from.

Just because an animal is bred in suffering does not give you the right to perpetuate that suffering as well. "Its ok, his father abuses him all the time so its ok if I do it too!" - Do you see what I mean? Is anyone even reading this email? Will you send me a standard response as well?

I expect better from you, and so does the rest of Canada.

On April 28th, 2019, over 150 activists from across Canada gathered for the Meat the Victims event in Abbotsford, B.C. at the Excelsior pig farm. Over 70 activists entered the farm to capture live footage of the living conditions of the animals who were raised in and exposed to horrific abuse and cruelty.

Amy Soranno and Nick Schafer were sentenced last October to 30 days prison and 12 months probation. They were convicted in July 2022 of breaking-and-entering and mischief.

"In a disappointing decision, the British Columbia Court of Appeal has upheld the convictions of Amy Soranno and Nick Schafer. The two were convicted in 2022 by a jury of criminal break and enter and mischief for their role in a peaceful sit-in at Excelsior Hog Farm—a factory pig farm in Abbotsford, BC that has been repeatedly exposed for extreme animal cruelty.

They now plan to appeal their sentence of 30 days in jail—the only known jail sentence in Canadian history for peaceful, non-violent civil disobedience.

Camille Labchuk, executive director of Animal Justice, poignantly summarizes the situation: “The Excelsior case exposes serious problems with the lack of oversight and accountability on farms in Canada. It is deeply troubling that our legal system gives abusive farms a get-out-of-jail-free card, yet attempts to jail the compassionate citizens who shine light on animal suffering.” - Camille Labchuck, Animal Justice

Today is the Annual Anti-Vivisection World Protest.
As an organizer for Animal Save and Direct Action Everywhere this is the first protest of our kind in the city that I am aware of.
These poor animals are in that building right now being tortured for science. They spend their entire existence in that lab being mutilated so we can have perfume, medication, dish detergent, house cleaning materials and of course they test the medication on the poor animals for all the side effects we as humans could possibly have.

These poor animals are the University of Alberta right now being tortured for science.

Are you ok with this happening in your City?
We are not.

We will stand outside the University of Alberta and join forces around the world protesting for the rights of these poor animals.
We demand that we STOP TESTING ON ANIMALS. There is no need. We are technologically advanced enough that there are other ways to test products that do not involve using and abusing animals.

Join us on April 27th for the World Wide Protest against Vivisection at the University of Alberta.

Details of the meeting spot will be giving out before the event.

Edmonton Vegan Activists representing @DirectActionEverywhere Disrupted the Edmonton Pro Rodeo on September 30th, 2023. In an attempt to fit in, the activists bought tickets to the event and dressed to fit the part, not hard. Get a cowboy hat and applaud at animal abuse. One activist was arrested, me, and released. This was not only for the horses, bulls, steers, calves, all animals involved in this barbaric industry, it was for all the other animals being abused in this world and used for human pleasure. Whether that be taste or entertainment, it must stop.
