I know i have not posted in a while. Sorry about that. We have been dealing with the wildfires and being evacuated as well as im about 6 weeks out from my due date. So lots going on and feels like no time to do anything.

So a little update, we separated the chickens for our personal hatching. Finished the buck pen for our goats. Our nanny goat is about to deliver any day now. And finally we no longer have any wildfire alerts.

If your interested in chicks, hatching eggs or eating eggs- please let me know.

Sadly we are preparing for emergency evacuation. With the wildfires so close we have no choice. But thankfully we have great support from friends and family. Heres to hoping and praying that by being prepared means we wont have to go.

We are on baby goat watch for the next few weeks. Super excited to see babies jumping about again.

Incubators are back in full force, half way done my second chick order then 1 more to go before we start our personal hatch.

Garden is getting done, got a few new planters that need to be potted up with herds and lettuce. Then wait a couple more weeks and we can put out the tender plants. This years garden goal is to put up enough salsa and pasta sauce to last until next year. As well as get the medicinal herb stash done.

So its been a while. Just a little update for everyone.

The incubators are in full use. We will have our first order of baby chicks ready soon.
The garden is in full swing with seeds and seedlings taking up way too much of our house 😂

Our goats are getting closer and closer to kidding. We are so excited to have our keeper kids for the year. Hubby is in full contractor mode making sure that the birthing stalls are ready for next months first "official" delivery. For those who know/didn't know, we had an unexpected birth early January that we were unprepared for. That little buckling has settled into his new home very nicely and is enjoying life.

After all our hatching orders are done we will be doing a little giveaway on 1 dozen purebred brahma hatching eggs. Details will be available soon.

The incubation station is all set up. Just gotta wait for tomorrow to plug them all in to make sure nothing is broken. Then test hatching!!

Predator got into my coop yesterday. Lost a couple birds with a possible few more to end mercifully. Unfortunately this means i will have to cancel all pol and adult bird sales. Chicks and eggs will still be available at this time.

Happy New Years Eve Everyone!!

After long thought and consideration we have decided to do things a little differently for 2023. We will only be parting with a small selection of hatching eggs plus our giveaway dozen. As well as we will be doing custom chick hatches and regular day old sales.

We will also have a few breeding groups available from our Brahmas.

We will also have goats up for discussion in the spring, varying breeds available.

I know i haven't posted in a while. We've been taking a break preparing for this winter, the 2023 breeding season and being pregnant. But i just had to share the sweetest thing from my chicken coop.

Our big brahma boy Nugget is the most amazing rooster ever. We have a runty 4 month old chick that has been having a rough go this winter. But Nugget has been determined to help this little guy out by cuddling with him on the roost and making sure he gets his turn for food and water. And then tonight i see that not just Nugget but also his son Jr. is making sure this little guy survives the cold snap by keeping him warm. Im so proud of them and very happy to be working with there genetics. 🥰

It saddens me to have to make this post, but due to recent issues here it is.

Once a price, method of payment and pick up/drop off has been agreed upon, thats it. You do not get to tell me the day of that these things are back up for negotiations or else. Im not in any rush to part with any of my animals or product. I can and will wait to find a new buyer.

As the end of growing season nears, i have decided to plan next years garden. So i did. 2 hours later and i have a smaller variety of plants, but a couple extra beds. So more of whats actually used. The chickens wont be happy with less fresh garden snacks, but my pantry will be so glad for the extras. And bonus, all i have to purchase for seeds are carrots and potatoes.

Just a little update on the farm as its been a while.

The chickens are doing great. Almost time to introduce the chicks. Sold 2 chicks as they are not colors i want to work with, so we have 10 left. And a rooster that will be off to his new home soon.

The goats are living their best lives. Topaz is almost dried up in preparation for breeding season. Molasses finally lost his testicles(we had him castrated for companion/pet purposes). And Nibbler is filling out very nicely. We have decided not to use him this year for breeding, so we are actively looking for a buck off site.

The permanent goat barn is still in the works. Its taking longer than we would like to get it put together. Here's hoping its done before winter.

The garden is not producing the best this year. The peas are amazing and so are the carrots, beets and potatoes. But everything else is slow growing. I hope the squashes(4 varieties), brussel sprouts, cabbage, peppers(3 varieties) and tomatoes(2 varieties) catch up. On the plus side all the flowers and trees i have are blooming beautifully. And I'm trying my hand at propagation.

As we all know too well, the inflation rates are horrible. Ive done my best to keep my prices as low as possible, but sadly i must like so many others, raise them. So unfortunately the cost on eggs is now $5/dozen. We will also only be providing live birds as of today on as we cannot keep up with the number of meat orders we are receiving. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

I have 2 hens looking for a new coop. Both exceptional layers. 1 Columbian and 1 Austrolorp (does goes broody, so if you want naturally hatched eggs she's your hen). Both hens are 2 years old. Must go together. Asking 45$ pick up only.
