Our Goals at Borderline Border Collies
We breed to produce healthy, social puppies that will excel at anything that comes their way. We choose our breeding dogs carefully. And we support our mommas throughout pregnancy with supplements and high quality nutrition and medical care. We do not cut corners on medical care or nutrition for momma or her babies. I am a Registered Veterinary Technologist with over 20 years of experience in a vet clinic. So the care of all of our dogs is our #1 priority. We work hard from day 1 handling our puppies and exposing them to different smells and people. As they get older and their eyes and ears open, we do more and more of this. We use Early Neurological Stimulation exercises as well as many Puppy Culture principles to help our babies to become confident and out-going puppies!
We do not breed often. One or two litters per year is all that we will have. When one litter goes to their new home, then we focus on finding a great stud dog for our next planned breeding that is usually many months away. We will research new ideas or ways of socializing our next litter. We add at least one new thing each litter. It could be a wobble board, or toys that bounce around and make noise, or one that lights up or makes animal sounds. We are always trying to think of new (and safe) things that the puppies can explore. Doing this when they are young helps to make them into confident and inquisitive dogs as they grow up! This is very important as this breed can easily be skittish or standoffish if they don’t have a strong background that builds confidence.
Check out our albums from our different litters. We post videos of the pups being cute, or when we start exposing them to new things like thunderstorm sounds, or a slide, or a new fun toy. It is important to us to stay in touch with everyone who has a Borderline pup! If you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message. Hopefully this page will become a brag wall for all of you and your four legged babies!
