I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag. We've had conversations with current riders and families, but it's time to let everyone in on the news. We've listed the farm for sale. We have loved our time here, but we feel we need a change. The critters are coming with us, don't worry! We've found a wonderful farm all the way in Nova Scotia and are excited to get out there and live it. We are committed to our summer programming and our riders. I am actively looking for lesson options that may fit our unique approach. We are going to miss our farm and our friends terribly, but we're excited for a new adventure with the crew.

Elbows Up Canada show was a hot one! Thank you to our riders, parents and the Summer Solstice Series for keeping everyone hydrated and having fun! The ponies are home, washed, snacked and rehydrated for a well deserved break ❤️

Like when you're waiting for something you know is coming, but you're trying to be a good pony...mostly? Don't worry Kaia, we didn't forget your dinner.

Summer Camp begins! Winnie is like our walmart greeter. We just need to find a little blue vest for her ;)

A fresh bale for dinner, and Rob has a captive audience for at least a few moments. The nights are lovely and peaceful, and thankfully, a whole lot cooler.

To say it's been a week is an understatement...but through all of it, we did get a happy ending for one part. Our rabbit, Elsa, injured her eye. We're not sure how. Every other bunny is fine. We rushed her to our favourite critter vet who recommended removing her eye to save her life. Surgery on small animals is super tricky, but we are so happy that Elsa has made it through safely. She's back home, eating well, enjoying the air conditioning indoors, and taking her meds like a pro. Our bank account is a little lighter, but she's worth it. Now, we need some pirate names????

Day 2million of this stupid heatwave. Still here, still melting but still standing ;) Same deal as yesterday...lessons are going to be a little different tonight for EVERYONE'S safety. We are going to learn how to bathe our horses for shows, how to read and ride our show courses while wating freezies in the shade. While it's this hot, theres actually more opportunities to learn (and work)...we got this!

Touchstone Farm, a home with heart
Touchstone Farm is home to a variety of animals. We have full sized horses, ponies and some miniature horses. Most of these equines are rescues or were at risk before coming home with us, we've promised them a soft landing and safe home for the rest of their days. The few that were not at-risk were purchased with the intention of becoming well loved family members for the rest of their lives. We also have pygmy goats, miniature sheep, two mini pigs, a variety of ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and our dogs. It's a full house!
Our promise here at the farm is to care for and treat every single animal like a family member, because they are. We take our responsibility to our animals very seriously. We never overbook them, we only take on a few events each week (if that) to make sure they get as much enjoyment from doing the parties as the guests do! Any proceeds from the farm go right back into the care and upkeep of the animals. Both my husband and I have careers outside Touchstone Farm, we can't expect them to pay our bills, but we are happy to go to work for them. We will NEVER put profits above their health and happiness.
We can promise that we'll have the same animals each year, plus some new ones of course. We value them like family, and have made a commitment to each and every one of them. Once the season ends, they come home, get spoiled and enjoy the rest until the next season.
The difference is easy to see. We simply adore our animals. We love to see them happy and having fun. Hearing children laugh and giggle because of our crew, it’s quite simply the best thing ever. This is by far, the most fun and best ‘job’ I’ve ever had.
