A complete set. Everyone is going to get their name plates up this weekend. I ordered them before we left so everyone would still match our original crew ❤️
Brenna has Moe's in her tack locker, I'm not brave enough to look for it...but we'll dig it out and put it up too ❤️

With the snow and ice, we kept the crew in a little longer to give it a chance to melt a bit. They were SUPER excited to get out and have a roll, I think every single one did. Happy to have such enthusiastic horses ;)

With all the excitement about moving, I've neglected to update our farm friends about Brenna's last Ontario horseshow. The week before we moved (brilliant planning, I know) we shuttled the boys to Ancaster for the Ontario Fall Finals; the culmination of Brenna's show season on the Prelude circuit. The boys were lovely! Moe had a blast, got to jump some jumps, won some carrots and finished feeling very accomplished for himself lol. Brenna navigated Bryan's first big show like a pro, every choice was carefully chosen to support him (and her) in their adventure and we are super grateful for all the support with them. Bryan had 4 successful rounds and a flat class. They all brought home some beautiful ribbons, wonderful memories and excellent experiences to start them off next season even better! Well done team!

It was beautiful this morning! Even the barn pigeons admired the sunrise ❤️ Not a bad way to start the day!

With a little weather arriving tomorrow, even the little critters are tucked away, warm in their beds. We are so in love with this farm and the comfort it provides all of our family ❤️

Good morning! I'm going to spend some time this week going over our business stuff, making a lesson plan, organizing ponies and of course...unpacking. But its pretty hard to stay on task when you have views like this one ❤️

Almost 4 weeks ago Marlie was injured. The cut on her knee so bad we were worried about infection into the joint and ultimately it would have meant euthanasia. But my Marlie has never listed to the odds. She's defied them repeatedly. And today, she's enjoying her new paddock, cozy warm stall with her buddies, and a ton of delicious East Coast hay. Champion race horse, neglected and sent to slaughter, rescued and a now a retired paddock puff ❤️

Know what today is? My birthday. Marlie is showing how I feel about my birthday LOL! We're learning about the Nova Scotia horse community, and loving it. We miss our Ontario families of course (summer visits please, I'm setting up the rooms!) but we're excited to make new connections out here too. So for my birthday I'd ask for people to make someone else smile today, just because. I'm going to cut up some snacks and go visit my horses in the barn and give a pat and a kiss on every single one as a present to myself....except Pearl....but even she is warming up to this adventure

Just checking in...we're all still here..just buried in a pile of moving boxes and a sea of horse blankets lol. Everyone is enjoying their new digs, the new mud, and settling into their stalls and routines well ❤️

Even though the house hasn't arrived yet, we're still working lol. Brenna saddled up Sisco to introduce her to our fabulous new indoor arena, but Sisco wanted a little extra support after having such a big week, and we brought Jane in to share the experience. Jane admired herself in the mirrors and then got toured around behind Sisco. Always learning, we're looking forward to introducing the rest of the herd to the arena and prepping to build our program back up in Nova Scotia. We know how wonderful the horses are, we can't wait to share them!

Ontario friends/family/clients/supporters....we've made the move to Nova Scotia officially. We're here, the critters are here, the cats have moved in, but we'd like to ask one more small favour. We're starting our client base from scratch out here (but you all know you're welcome to come visit!!!) and we'd appreciate reviews here and on Google to let people know about us. We'd like to ask our Ontario peeps to share the good word to our new Nova Scotia peeps. Help us start off on the right foot, let our ponies meet good people, and let us continue to contribute to our new community too

Touchstone Farm is home to a variety of animals. We have full sized horses, ponies and some miniature horses. Most of these equines are rescues or were at risk before coming home with us, we've promised them a soft landing and safe home for the rest of their days. The few that were not at-risk were purchased with the intention of becoming well loved family members for the rest of their lives. We also have pygmy goats, miniature sheep, two mini pigs, a variety of ducks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hedgehogs and our dogs. It's a full house!
Our promise here at the farm is to care for and treat every single animal like a family member, because they are. We take our responsibility to our animals very seriously. We never overbook them, we only take on a few events each week (if that) to make sure they get as much enjoyment from doing the parties as the guests do! Any proceeds from the farm go right back into the care and upkeep of the animals. Both my husband and I have careers outside Touchstone Farm, we can't expect them to pay our bills, but we are happy to go to work for them. We will NEVER put profits above their health and happiness.
We can promise that we'll have the same animals each year, plus some new ones of course. We value them like family, and have made a commitment to each and every one of them. Once the season ends, they come home, get spoiled and enjoy the rest until the next season.
The difference is easy to see. We simply adore our animals. We love to see them happy and having fun. Hearing children laugh and giggle because of our crew, it’s quite simply the best thing ever. This is by far, the most fun and best ‘job’ I’ve ever had.
