So, we killed e-commerce on our site due to high monthly fees.

According to the Farmer's Almanac, summer's “Dog Days” are from July 3 to August 11 each year. They’re usually the hottest and most unbearable days of the season. The phrase is a reference to Sirius, the Dog Star. During the “Dog Days” period, July 3 to August 11, the Sun occupies the same region of the sky as Sirius, the brightest star visible from any part of Earth. Sirius is a part of the constellation Canis Major, the Greater Dog.

Mr. Affables (Affie) is soooo serious about wanting to try his new biothane long line from of Whitehorse. He can't wait to do some sniffaris in nature with freedom to sniff but with the safety of being leashed (it's just too tempting to chase squirrels, grouse, foxes and bears!).

Each package is unique and you never know what drawings you'll get. We kinda think each gift wrap is a collector's item but that just might be the Picasso in us ;-)

On Aug. 31 2005, I photographed a mixed breed 4-month old puppy named Zoe for my "Mostly Mutts" book. This past weekend I met Zoe again. She is the only dog still living that was featured in the book. She is what is called a "Methuselah Dog" - any dog that lives to be over 17. She is is now 100+ in human years. Wow!

I used Affables' Snacks treats to get that big smile on Zoe ;-)
