BIOGRAPHY ❤️
Makayli has always had an intuitive way with animals. Especially horses. As a child Makayli had a passion for horses and the equestrian world. As she grew up she taught herself through the sport of horses. It started with a passion. She taught herself how to ride, and eventually she had the gift of owning her own horses. From that moment on she was determined to turn her dreams into a reality. Her dream was to learn from the best, broaden and sharpen her skills with horses. She graduated high school in 2019. And that fall was accepted into Olds College for the Equine Science Diploma which she graduated from in 2021. Through the Equine Science program she learned anatomy and physiology of the equine species, training and support for green horses, coaching both flat, lunging and stable management lessons and so much more. She is a Trained Equine Canada Coach (not yet certified), and she has passed her rider level 6 exams with Equestrian Canada. Makayli is also an avid and inspiring Equestrian Vaulter. She started training at 19 years old, three years later she is competing in 1* Canter Vaulting and was 2023s Provincial Advanced Canter Champion. She will be training to become an equestrian vaulting coach this summer 2024. She hopes to one day open a vaulting club of her own and teach people of all ages the beautiful and special sport of vaulting. She wants everyone to learn and love growth and how you can start any sport with horses at any age! She hopes to coach and own a club of her own. In order to guide people through this sport.
Makayli says “One of the reasons I fell I love with vaulting was because of the bond you’re able to create with the horses. It’s truly a special blend of being strong and also being aware of your partner (the horse). Us as vaulters need to be aware of ourselves in order to allow the horses to do their job of carrying us. We are strong and soft so they are able to keep us safe, and confident. It’s truly a blessing to create a partnership such as that between vaulter and horse.”
