Late posting as per usual. Just thought I should share a very rewarding experience I had over the holidays. As some of you know I do a fair amount of starting colts from the ground up. Usually they get rode for a moderate 30-60 days and lord knows what happens once they get home and the owners success with them is anyone’s guess. When Kate called I was happy to hear she wanted to be as involved as possible and I think she got more than she bargained for. 19 sessions and you can watch this gelding go from his first ride to Kate starting to lesson on him with her regular trainer. It shows the loosening of my influence on the horse and in turn passing it over to Kate in a safe controlled manner. All this to ensure confidence, trust and efficient proper communication between Kate and her new mount. All while still instilling the same calm, confident foundation I try the place on every young horse I encounter. Will still be checking in on Kate in the near future but still wishing her all the best with her companion
