Our journey together ended today when Pipers Journey left for Ontario. I will miss her so much. I don’t usually cry when a horse leaves although it’s always sad for me. Today I did…

I hope to get updates about her that I can keep posting and maybe one day I will see her again. Such a lovely horse with a big heart and gentle kind nature.

Pipers Journey’s ‘Journey’ with me is coming to an end tomorrow when she leaves for her new home

Our last ride today was her first show, her sixth time over jumps, and her first full course. As a greenie, I took her in the two 2’3”events and then the first 2’6”.

My amazing girl got two 2nd places in the 2’3” and then placed 1st in her 2’6”!

Piper popped over a couple of jumps today. This was her third ride over jumps. She is a natural. Apart from her second Deanna lesson on Wednesday she will be doing all flatwork until her first show next week

Super excited about this today. I have never put her over a jump, just a cavaletti I think… and that was last year.

Today I asked Piper to do her first jump and she felt so good we carried on. Just look at how amazing she is going over her very first jumps!

It’s been a while since I posted about Pipers Journey. We never seem to get a consistent run in our training so we lack muscle and staminer but I can honestly say she has come along so well regardless.

She has lovely gaits and is so easy to ride. She wants to listen and is very responsive.

Fingers crossed we can get more than two weeks under our belt without losing a shoe, having an injury (all minor but all stop progress!) or any other minor mishaps that prevent her developing overall fitness!

Love her!

It’s been a while since I posted, I took some me time for a while but we are back again.

Winter is the perfect time to take things back to basics so yesterday was day 1 for Journey I’m taking her back to the beginning as if she had not been started before.

I’m hoping to reboot previous memories prior to the track as I know the lady who started her starts horaes the same way as I do.

She’s still learning how to utilize her body, and engage her hind end. She has no clue yet. We have moments. She’s starting to relax and bend. Just a couple of silly moments today !
