For those that don't already know Piper's Paws is moving to Gibsons! It's been a wild couple of months, but we're excited for the next chapter. Thank you so much to all the wonderful clients that have helped make Piper's Paws so successful! I will definitely miss all of the pups I've got to pamper, groom and cuddle!

The North Vancouver studio will be closing November 5th. For anyone wishing to get an appointment before we close please call, text or email!

Being groomed isn't so bad when you have a buddy!!

One benefit of using a small business groomer is that there will never be a ton of other dogs around! This brother sister pair had the whole place to themselves! Less dogs around means less stress on your fur kid when they come in for a groom. Typically there is only 2 dogs in at a time.

This precious gem of a man came in for a groom today!! 🐾

Unfortunately a previous groomer had shaved him a few years back and his coat never grew back the same. So let’s talk about double-coated doggos!

There are a few reasons why we don’t shave a double-coated dog. One of the main reasons being it can lead to hair loss also known as Alopecia/Black Skin disease. This is what happened to this poor guy.

So what can we do? While there is no cure-all there are a few things that can help and might give dogs a chance at regrowing their hair.

The first is brushing regularly, because the undercoat grows so much faster than the guard coat you need to brush your dog regularly to help the guard coat grow through the undercoat!

Diet is also important, a healthy raw food diet especially a diet including fish and fish oil will help any dog's coat, but will really help dogs with coat/skin issues!
