Hey Boomer’s friends! ⭐️Would love your ideas!⭐️
We are wanting to add more fun activities to the farm, more things for kids and families to do while visiting us. Our goal is to provide you with a great time with our animals, and then give you the opportunity to stay and enjoy yourself longer afterwards!⭐️We would love to hear your ideas ⭐️What kind of activities would you like to see and enjoy? Some ideas are a small race track with tractor bikes for kids, play area, zip line and a rock climbing wall. We do have so many more ideas that we have been working on, but would love to hear your suggestions! 🥰

It’s been a busy summer, we apologize if we haven’t gotten back to all of our messages! We have been working hard to plan and prepare for opening next spring, and it’s been such a wet year that it only truly dried up in late July!

Amber came to us 2 months ago, she was running through farmer’s fields in Oakbank for days, scared and neglected, lost her trust in humans. Here she is now, 2 months after welcoming her into our family. ❤️

This is Donny, one of the two boys that we brought home and have been working with since June. They were both very skittish and hard to get close to, so I have been working with them every day but it’s been taking much longer than it has with others I’ve worked with. We decided to bring one of our other donkeys in with them, to show them how comfortable and happy she is, and they instantly relaxed and started warming up. This photo here, is such a huge accomplishment that I am so proud of!

One big happy family 😍🥰 Jon has been working with Amber, it’s amazing how far she has come after rescueing her this summer. He sure is the emu whisperer ❤️ -and yup, the little guy in the photo is our baby emu that we hatched out this spring!! Blows me away at how big he has gotten!!

This warms my heart so much! Here is Amber, she was the recent emu we rescued. We gave her space for a couple of weeks and worked with her a bit, and now she is coming in for cuddles 🥰 We introduced our male, Blue to her today, now she has a forever friend, the introduction went amazing!! It’s amazing what a little bit of love can do ❤️

Some of you may have heard of the emu running loose in the Oakbank area for a few days last week, she has safely been caught, and is now settling in to our farm. Thank you so much to Shane Strazza at Tosh Acres Farm, for the assistance with catching her. Thank you to Tamara Hupalo for assistance along the way. She was living in a not ideal situation, and was being attacked by another emu, leading her to escape and run away. Long ago, she was a friendly girl, but circumstances changed and she lost human connection, so requires a lot of work to get back to that point. We are allowing her some space and time, she is getting more comfortable by the day and will eventually get there.

Hey Boomer’s friends!
We are on a rescue mission this weekend, and could use any support we can get! We have been working around the clock trying to rescue an emu that was been getting bullied and attacked by another emu, leading to her continuously breaking out of her current residence and running away. The current housing situation for these emus are not ideal to begin with, so we are doing what we can, don’t even ask what their intended purpose is for those emus 😱 right now our first mission is catching this beautiful emu and bringing her home! Myself, our son, along with the wonderful help of Tosh acres have been on foot trying to do what we can. We had her once, however she was so frightened that she got away. We have also been working hard to get the proper set up for her here, as she can jump 6 ft over a fence, and with her being so spooked, we need to ensure we have the proper set up until we can calm her down and she can feel safe. The most important thing, is making her feel safe! There has been a lot of travel involved, and we need to purchase additional fencing to make an 8 ft enclosure. So far this rescue mission has cost roughly $700, and we aren’t quite done yet!

Tomorrow, we also have 2 beautiful donkeys being delivered to us from quite a distance away! They haven’t been handled, and have never had their hooves done. They are also intact, so are going to require to be gelded right away. We plan on keeping them penned in our shelter for a while, so we can work our magic on them. This mission is going to cost us roughly $1500 once they get all of the vet care and hoof care that they need.

Once these beautiful animals arrive, we will post photos and continue posting their progress. If you can help support by making a donation, we would truly appreciate it, and can also write a donation receipt if need be! We appreciate any help we can get! Thank you all for your support 🥰

To all of our beautiful followers;

As most of you may know, we moved our farm last fall, to a beautiful 160 acres, 10 minutes west of our old place! Our plan was to be open for this summer, however after much discussion, we have decided not to reopen this summer, and plan to reopen next spring. We have been working really hard trying to have everything ready, however with all of the rain and wet season we have had, it’s made it very difficult to do what we needed to get done.

We plan on taking the time this summer to make our farm better than ever, and also spend some time with our kids and settle into our new place! This was a very hard decision, however it has just been too difficult to get ready in such a short time. We will truly miss you all this summer and hope that you understand! We may eventually host a couple of events this summer/fall, and we aren’t going anywhere, so if you ever feel like you really want to drop by to say hi to the animals, send us a message!

Eeeeek 😍🐽 I spy with my little eyes… 4 cute little piglet butts!! We have 2 male and 2 female, they will be in our indoor petting farm to cuddle with and enjoy belly rubs! If you have any good pig names, we would LOVE to hear them below!!

We got our first pen built today! Only 5 more to go! This one is our baby pig pen, we will have a bunny pen, a pen for bottle feeding baby goats, and a chick pen/hatchery area! We will be leaving one big pen open in case we need to use it for when our baby horse arrives this summer 😊 now that we have the layout, the rest should go together quickly! At our new location we decided to go with a big sheltered area for part of the petting farm, so that when we have rainy days, there is still lots to do while being sheltered 🥰

We have been busy getting our play area organized. We have a fun plan for this old beautiful truck! Still on the look out for a nice big play structure with swings, also building a a little race track, and a small rock climbing wall! And of course the pup needs to help by distracting us with his cuteness 🥰

This week our goal is to get our welcome centre set up and animals pens built inside for our bunnies, baby goats, chicks, and prepare for our special delivery, coming this Friday!! It’s going to be an overload of cuteness and we cannot wait to share photos, and better yet, for you to meet them! …. Hint: 🐽🐽🐽🐽

It has been an insanely busy weekend on the farm! We now have our summer pasture ready to go, goat pens built, and began working on our new chicken pen. We still have one big project left to do- building stalls inside our welcome centre, and a few smaller jobs. We are going to be starting our play area soon, just need to find ourselves a nice play structure and swings! Trying to get in as much as we can whenever there is time. The enormous amount of rain that we got on Friday did not help!! Thank you SO much to our amazing team for being here to help out, it went so fast and smoothly with you, and we got to have some fun! Thanks to our Mamma, for cooking us meals to keep us fueled throughout the day and looking after the kiddos. We will provide more updates as we progress, aiming for Mid June to open, as we don’t want to miss out on our yearly field trip visits!
