As we got closer to Ella’s appointment we were sure she was pregnant. Yesterday our veterinarian confirmed it, and most importantly Ella and her puppies are doing great! We are expecting a litter near the end of the month!

I finished mixing my first batch of homemade raw, based on the B.A.R.F. diet! I made ground lean beef, beef liver, kale, carrots, blueberries, apple, and flax seeds. I also cut up a piece of fresh Atlantic salmon. Lastly I made some frozen summer treats, plain Greek yogurt with chopped apple and blueberries, and another batch with one whole blueberry. If anyone is wondering about the bone requirement in their food, we're going to give the dogs a chicken neck with the beef dinner we made because our meat grinder probably wouldn't handle bones 😉

I went to visit Frankie & Johnny today. They have been at their forever home for 6 days now and they sit on command, ring a bell to go outside, come when they're called.... they're doing so very good!

As of this past weekend all of the puppies have opened their eyes. Today when I came home one got up from a nap with the others and came to me!

They enjoyed organic pumpkin purée and fermented goats milk for breakfast this morning. Looks like we’ll be cleaning the whelping box and bathing puppies next!
