Did you know cats are obligated to carnivores? This means that they lack specific enzymes to break down carbohydrates and can benefit from being fed a fresh, raw diet (even more so than dogs!)⠀

Cats are known for being picky, but if they don’t embrace the new taste immediately they can still learn to love raw, but it can take patience & trial and error. ⠀

Here are some tips for transitioning your cat onto a raw diet:⠀
💚 Taking a gradual approach - slowly increasing the percentage of raw in their diet can help them acclimate to the new taste⠀
💚 Adding in raw goats milk! Cats typically love the taste and it can add natural probiotics to their diet. ⠀
💚 Offer the meal at room temperature. A lot of cats don’t enjoy cold meals and it will have more of an aroma!⠀
💚 Add a nice little treat - or as we call it”sprinkles” to the top of the meal - if they have a favourite treat like lung or liver you can add small amounts to the meal. ⠀

Here are a few simple tips to ensure your pet is getting the proper hydration this summer:⠀

1. Feed moisture rich foods and you can even add in extra hydration such as bone broth to meal time. ⠀

2. Encourage extra drinking with adding a small amount of bone broth to the water bowl - this will also give them extra electrolytes!⠀

3. Offering ice cubes as a treat for dogs - most pups love the crunch!⠀

4. Limiting exercise on hot days to avoid dehydration⠀
