If you are going to be needing any medications, foods, or any special treats, please please please reach out to us in advance!! We will be posting our holiday hours in the coming weeks, but we do not want someone needing a special prescription or a bowl of kibbles over the holidays when we may not be open. Please stock up and let us know by the week of December 16th for any special orders to ensure you have it before Christmas! Fall is an important time for parasite protection. We see flea infestations peak in the fall and blacklegged (deer) ticks are out looking for a host when its 4° C and above, no matter the season. In Southwestern Ontario, October and November are high risk months to encounter blacklegged ticks. Blacklegged ticks can transmit the bacterium that causes Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis to you and your pet. Let’s keep your pet protected from ticks and the diseases they can carry!! 🐶🐱

It is International Blind Dog Day! Today we want to raise awareness about the amazing abilities these misunderstood fur babies have. They may be visually impaired, but they can still live long, happy and healthy lives without losing full independence. We can use verbal cues, treats and still show them how much we still love them! 🐶👀🩵

Foster Homes Needed: Provide a Loving Temporary Haven for Rescued Animals.

Are you able to provide a safe and caring environment for a rescued animal in need? The Clover Foundation is looking for compassionate foster families to temporarily care for animals awaiting adoption.

Fostering Requirements:

Location: Applicants must live within a one-hour drive of Hamilton and have access to a vehicle for transporting the foster animal to and from designated veterinary clinics.
Current Pets: All pets in the foster home must be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered.
Commitment: Fosters should be prepared to care for the animal until adoption. The duration may vary from a few weeks to several months or even longer.

Hello, wonderful people! My name is Milkshake, and I'm eagerly waiting for my forever home. I started my journey as a stray, but the kind folks at Mohawk Animal Clinic have been taking great care of me. Now, it's time for me to find a loving family to call my own.

I'm a 10-month-old Domestic Medium Hair (DMH) kitty, spayed and fully vaccinated. I'm known for my social nature and love for human companionship. Whether it's playtime or cuddle time, count me in!

NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR PETS TRAVELING TO THE USA

Effective August 1st, there will be new requirements to enter the USA with your dog.

As long as they have not visited any HIGH RISK RABIES* (*Canada is NOT HIGH RISK) countries in the last 6 months, all dogs must be:
-6 months of age or older
-microchipped and Rabies vaccinated. (The rabies vaccine must be given after they were microchipped)
- Forms completed by your veterinarian and endorsed by the CFIA, these forms are provided on the CDC website (CDC Dog Import Form).

IF YOU ARE UNSURE of any of the policies or practices, please refer to the CDC’s Frequently Asked Questions page, or you can Use the DogBot on the CDC’s website to determine what rules apply.

You can also contact the CFIA at (905) 572-2201 (Hamilton office) for more details.

Please note our staff are not experts in export, we appreciate your patience as we also learn the new regulations needed for your pet to travel to the USA.
